This couple left Oslo on the “Anna Delius” on April 26, 1868. I've
recently come across a picture of what I've been told is a "wedding trunk"
for Ole Olsen born 1832/33/34 in Eidsvold. The trunk has a date on it of
1782 which would lead me to believe that it would have originally belonged
to his parents or possibly grandparents. Ole Olsen married Anne Sorine
Sorensdtr on November 17, 1861. Below is the information I find in the 1865
census and I am wondering if anyone can help me find out who his parents and
possibly grandparents were. I do know about Anne Sorine's family. Thanks.

The 1865 census gives you at least an approximate birthyear and a birthplace. You can look through the parish records of Eidsvold for that time period for Ole Olsen's birth. Earlier generations are researched in a like manner.

The Digitalarkivet web site has been adding scanned images of the original Norwegian parish church records for anyone with Internet access since November 2005.

The Digitalarkivet web site - http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/WebFront.exe?slag=vis&tekst=meldingar
An English option is available by clicking on that word from either the left hand column or the blue link bar along the bottom of the homepage.
The scanned images are available from the homepage link "Skanna kyrkjebøker" [Norwegian version]/"Digitised parish records" [English version] which is listed along the left hand column and from the blue banner of links along the top section of the homepage.
After you've clicked on that link and a new main page has presented on the screen be sure and read the instructions that are available from the Digitalarkivet for navigating the scanned records. The instructions are available in Bokmål (official Norwegian), Nyorsk (Norwegian), Davvisámegiella (Saami), and English.
Recommended basic reading are the "Startsiden" [Norwegian version]/"Main page" [English version], "Brukerveiledning" [Norwegian version]/"User's guide" [English version] and "Om tjenesten" [Norwegian version]/"About this service" [English version].

Good information about translating the formats of Norwegian parish church records during various time periods, many of the basic terms used and understanding how to use the information should be studied at this web site -

Ole Olsen, Korslund (26) and Syrine Sørensdatter (29) were married Nov 17 1861, see #5.

Eidsvoll is a difficult parish to search for ancestors since the records were destroyed in a fire in 1877.

Ole Olsens father was Ole Nielsen, Ulvind,

Anne Syrine Sørensdatters father was Søren Sørensen, Korslund. (born 1806)

Their first son Olaus was born Dec 21 1863, see #4.

The second son Siegvart (Syvart) was born July 15 1864, see #35.

Thanks eibache. You've given me Ole's father's name. Now to see if we can get to the bottom of the "trunk". I wish there was a way to include the picture to aid in the search.

How about using e-mail for the picture of the trunk?
- and how did you manage to get the family of Anne Syrine Sørensdatter if her family also were from Eidsvoll?

Anne Sorine is the sister to my husband's grandfather and there was some information on the Norwegian census back to 1801, some from Langset Klokkerbok and some was passed through the family. I just now see the link to attach an image so will do so now. I don't know if this will work or not, but I'll give it a try.
