Elias Christensen was born about 1812 in Norway. He married Helene Torgersdatter sometime prior to 1844. Their children were all born in Ormelet, Tjome, Vestfold:
Christian Lauritz Eliassen, b. 1844, m. Marie Mathisen - went to U.S.
Torger Eliassen, b. 1848 - remained in Norway
Gunhilda Eliassen, b. 1851, m. Nils Johnson - went to U.S.
Elias Eliassen, b. 1854 - remained in Norway
Henrietta Eliassen, b. 1858, m. Hans Peter Carlsen - went to U.S.
I descend from the eldest child, Christian Lauritz Eliassen, and would love to be able to connect with descendants of the other children.

Are you only looking to connect with descendants that stayed in Norway or are you also interested in descendants who live in the US. If the latter this person has a good family tree on Ancestry.com. containing the families of Christian, Gunhild and Hennriette.

I would be thrilled to have any information at all on this family - U.S. side or Norwegian. How can I see the family tree on Ancestry.com?

Your local library may have a subscription to Ancestry.com. I would try that first.

Here is another online Family Tree containing some of your family. Scroll down about four families to Eiias Kristensen and Helene Torgersen. Contains some good references to the pages of the Tjøm Bygdebok as well as some ancestors of Elias for a few generations back in time.

Found no sign of Torger and Elias who stayed in Norway after the 1865 census.

Elias Christensen was born Jan 15 1812, see next to the last record on right page. His parents were Christen Eliassen, Barkevigen and Larine Maria Larsdatter.

Elias married Helene Dec 12 1841, see #36.

Christian Laurits was born Sept 23 1844, see #59.

Here is another option for you for Ancestry.com. There is a second Family Tree for your family. This one is mostly ancestors and goes back in time quite a long way. It is owned by a Frankie Rey. This lady is from England and has a Facebook account. If you are not yet a Facebook member it is quite easy to join. Then look up Frankie Rey, there are two. She is the lady with the blonde hair and big smile. Location on her Facebook page is Slough England. . Perhaps she can provide you with ancestral data and perhaps she can also provide the US data from ksuran71 as well. Here is her Ancestry.com name
