Hi Forum Friends,

Would like a little help tonight with a translation of the message in "Til Hvad Sted" for #31 at:

http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:NBN:no-a1450-kb20070326640346.jpg

I think it says that she is moving to Tingvold and that she has an illegitimate child born 11 May 1870, but I would like to be certain of all the details.

Takk for hjelpa!

Jackie M.

If you would link to the Permanent Page Link -- "Permanent sidelenke:" [Norwegian version] instead of the permanent image it would make it easier for others to help.

With the permanent page link someone else can see exactly where you found the material, can zoom in to at least 150%, can page back and forward to see other examples of the handwriting and pattern of notations, etc.

With only the jpg image options are very limited -- the other link is much more useful.

It is #1 in 1877.
Marith Pedersdatter, Stangvik ytre, was given attestation Jan 7 1877. She was born May 26 1846 and her confirmation record is Nr. 30 1862.
She moved to Thingvold where she had been on the farm Løseth since it was transfered to Thingvold parish in 1872. She had an "uægte" child born May 11? 1870.

Marith Pedersdatter was an "uægte" child, her father was Peder Olsen, Bølseth and her mother was Brith Olsdatter, Løseth, see #25.

Marith Pedersdatter had a half-brother Ole Knudsen, see #16, and a half-brother Johannes Iversen, see #15.

Hi,

Thanks for information about the links--previously [and erroneously apparently] I found that the jpeg link was the best because the other seemed to not work through time on certain machines and never on my computer....Hmmmm a major malfunction this will cause in my recordkeeping....O well, better now than later...

Thanks for finding her anyway. Yes there is something in that entry about 1872. I wasn't sure that it might be pointing to the Marit Pedersdatter who left Stangvik in 1872 (page 216 but different birthdate/confirmation date, not likely) and an even earlier departure attest on [20 July]1865 for Marit Pedersdatter Drøpping age abt 23 to go to Christiansund.

Marit's father is a bit of a mystery as well. In the matrikkel list of 1950 for Tingvold, Løset and Bølset are numbered next to each other but Løset appears in Stangvik in 1801, 1865 census but in Tingvold in 1900. And most of the people from Løseth appear in Stangvik records and a lot of them left for Tingvold (or so it shows in the departures from Stangvik} So somefhing has happened in the history of Løseth in Stangvik.

Thanks again for helps.
