In the digital archives at http://www.digitalarkivet.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbase&sidenr=4&filnamn=f18011941&gardpostnr=20&personpostnr=352#nedre

There is a census extraction of the family of Knud Olsen and his wife Abel Abramsdatter. The parish is Schiervøe in Finnmark I am trying to review the digital church records to find more about this family. Where is Schiervøe. In which community's church records should I look?

Thank you

Thank you Einar

In the 1801 census it says Finnmark. Did the boundary lines change so that the it is now in Troms?

Thank you for the map. I had not seen that one before. It is very informative

Boundaries could have changed -- think of all the changes in the North America since 1801...

In the past Skjervøy was a part of Tromsø and Senja Bailff District, Finnmark County, later Troms.

Skjervøy divorced from Tromsø and became an independent parish Jan. 18. 1776 and an independant municipality 1838.
