What would Odd's last name be? sorry I still haven't gotten the hang of how they use the last name yet. So Odd would be
Odd Normann Alfredsen or Odd Normann Johansen?

Hopefully a brother Odd to Oscar, seems like Margrete changed lastname from the traditional naming system Olufsen (Olufs child) to her fathers lastname (Oluf) Didriksen.

Odd Normann b. April 20. 1926 in Vatnfjord to "bonde" farmer Alfred Johansen b. 1880 and Margrete Didriksen born 1890, see #18

Where does the name Hawkland originate from. (christie and Ida Salmon ) had this last name. I cannot find a farm by that name, nor can I find any info about Ida Salmon who came with Chrisite to new york in 1923, same time on the same ship.
christie and Ida info is within this query, abit earlier.
Christie's birth record was found but not Ida.

Hawkland is Alfred's brother. Alfred married Margrete in 1921. I think my grandfather came over here with Hawkland when they came over in 1923.. I think the story was that my grandfather was a stowaway his first trip here. I do not know if he ever went back to Norway. Thank you for your continued search everyone. I have so much to share with my sisters this year for Christmas...I had hoped to find a living family member before I shared all of this with them but i cant keep it to myself..Merry Christmas everyone you have blessed us beyond words!!

Perhaps he stil lives Sharon, Odd Normann would be 84.

The marriage records for Gimsøy ends 1939, weddings after 1939 are probably still kept by the priest, only the priest to my knowledge can free church records.
All other church records younger than 80 years are not available because of the protection of a persons privacy (80 years rule).
