Hi Kare,
Thank you and others very much for the contributions of information on tracing Lawrence Rude. I am very much hoping Lars turns out to be Lawrence Rude.

Hi, I´m trying with some more information, maybe someone reading this has the answer;
Was Lars Daffinrud Lawrence Rude.

Daffinrud 1865, Lars parents and siblings, his brother Hans married to Oline Pedersdatter takes over Daffinrud and lives there with 3 children in 1900, Daffinrud had changed name to Dagfinrud.

Lars was a farmhand on farm Haug 1865.

His brother Gunder was shoemaker and brother Jacob was "Skrædder" tailor and Peder worked on the farm.

Oslo 1869, Jacob Gulbrandsen, tailor, age 28 from Nord Odal emigrated to Chicago.
He is not recorded in the migration records for Nord Odalen so I can not confirm if he is Lars Brother, see here

The parents;
Gulbrand Gundersen died April 12.1883 as married "Føderaadsmand" former owner of the farm, see #25
Widow Aase Nielsdatter died August 8. 1889, see #19

Hi.
Another possibility is these books, 5 volumes, called "Bygdebøker" from Nord Odal, which is about all the farms and those who lived there and what happened to them, only volume 1 is online.

English translation down left.

I will take a look at them - thank you. I'll check and see if these books are available in English in the U.S.
