Hello everyone, My name is Tina Tice-Wunder...I am looking for my Husbands family the Thompson's.
His GGGrandfather was Thomas Thompson, born Aug 1865 in Norway. His Mothers first name was Ellen, born 1836 also in Norway. His mother came to America in 1898..We thought maybe his father passed in 1897 or early 1898 being the reason she came the USA..She is listed as a widow with 2 children being born to her....He married Hilma or Helina Lendborne born 1866 in Sweden..I have found two different entries were it gives his arrival to America 1877 and or 1886, but I can find this man nowhere. Can anyone please help????..We would like to know his fathers name, maybe the city where he came from, and or his leaving of Norway. Thank you

Tina Tice-Wunder

I take it that your Thomas Thompson in 1900 was a residence of Royersford borough, Montgomery, Pennsylvania. He and his wife Helina had 4 children:
John, Ella, Charles and Hannah.
In this census his mother is said to have emigrated in 1893.

The 1910 census lists the same family, but the Father has a different first name "Funnce". Hilma was my search name, so she is listed first.

1910 United States Federal Census
Name: Hilma C Thompson
Age in 1910: 43
Estimated birth year: abt 1867
Birthplace: Sweden
Relation to Head of House: Wife
Father's Birth Place: Sweden
Mother's Birth Place: Sweden
Spouse's name: Funnce Thompson
Home in 1910: Royersford Ward 2, Montgomery, Pennsylvania
Marital Status: Married
Race: White
Gender: Female
Year of immigration: 1876

Household Members: Name Age
Funnce Thompson 44
Hilma C Thompson 43
Martha O Thompson 19
John L Thompson 18
Ella M Thompson 16
Charles F Thompson 14
Hanna M Thompson 12
Thomas M Thompson 2
Ellen Thompson 73

Wide variations for the year of immigration. 1876, 1880, and 1886.
There are 6 children, so is this the right family?
