I have been searching for my grandfather's brother Otto Johannessen Halberg DOB Feb 8/1882 born in Bakke, Vest-Agder, Norway.

I understand young Norwegian men had to spend time as sailors at a certain age (not sure on this fact).

Last info I have on him was the census of 1900. He was living on a farm named Kleiven/Forberg with his parents.

Otto apparently left Norway with my grandfather. My grandfather stopped in England and came to Canada in 1903-04 moving to Winnipeg, MB. We have very limited information to go on as to what happened after this period of time. I have two uncles left who are very old and they have very limited information. They were under the impression that Otto didn't get off in England and went to Australia. they don't know for sure.

Any help in this regard would be appreciated.

Any idea where Otto might have ended up? Appreciate any help.

Did Johan and Welene have any other children? Is it possible to find out. Thx Sharyn
