I’ve noticed a strange reference to Australia (crossed out) on a birth record for a child of Johan Severin Larsen and Hanna Serianna Johnsdtr.

See Ingrid Johansdtr - Entry #8 (third from bottom)

The child apparently only lived for 3 months (died Jan 1899). Her mother, Hanna Serianna Johnsdtr, died shortly after in July 1900. The family didn’t arrive in Australia until 1905 so I’m not sure what this reference means.

Borghild was their first child (born 1882) but didn’t come out to Australia with the family (perhaps she married and stayed in Norway or died).

The family that arrived in Australia were Johan Larsen (father) and children - Karen Aslaug, Gudrun, Signe, Leif and Hanna (born March 1900) and Bjorn (apparently born on board ship – parents not specified).

That is written and then crossed out -- someone made a mistake.

I would assume that was written later just as the word "Død" had to be also written later... since you say the child lived to be at least 3 months old.

The dates for that particular book are from1888-1913. Entries could be easily made and/or changed easily for quite a few years.

Thanks for that. I thought perhaps it may have been a record of the family leaving the parish - but obviously just a typo.

Thanks for the info on the siblings Einar. I posted in the other topic - what is the cause of death of Borghild?
