Ostfold Tune Norway marriage records for 1821, page 419 No. 28 shows Niels Hansen Skaen of Schjeberg (I think) getting married to Inger Rasmusdatter. Can someone tell me what the name of the place after Inger's name is? And in the third column, would this be witnesses to the wedding? It doesn't appear to be their fathers' names. Thank you for your help, Dusty

Yes, Niels Hansen, Skaen in Schjeberg Præstegjeld (30) married Inger Rasmusdatter, Kongserud (Kongsruud) (20) on Nov 25 1821.
Anders Olsen, Kongserud and Ole Andersen, Skottebye were witnesses.
Ingers parents can be seen from the confirmation record, #27
- Rasmus Andersen and Gonnor Andersdatter, Kongserud.

Thank you for the helpful information for marriage record! Can you tell me the year of the confirmation record for Inger so I can find that record? When I click on the #27, it brings me to 1801 marriage records, not the confirmation record. I would like to make a copy of the confirmation record since it links her to her parents Rasmus and Gonnor. Thank you! -Dusty

Sorry for the bad linkage, #27 is now working, confirmation date was Nov 3 1816, Inger was then 14 3/4 years old - should be born Febr 1802 then.

Ingers bapt record from Skiptvet is #4, she was born Jan 12 1802, parents were then on Skaar.

Rasmus Anderen, Skaar from Skibtved and Gonnor Andersdatter, Kongsrud were married Aug 15 1799, see 1st record in right column on left page.

Gonor Andersdatter was baptized May 3 1778, see #40, her parents were Anders Olsen and Inger Mattisdatter, Skoftebye.

Thank you so much for your very helpful information. These are all direct line relations and it's so nice to be able to see the actual records (even tho I don't usually know what all the language is). I can usually make out the names and sometimes the places. You have been so helpful with dates and places for me!!! -Dusty

I found what I believe is the birth/baptism record for Rasmus Andersen in Ostfold, Skiptvet Birth Records 1753, p. 64, No. 37. I see the name Rasmus and Anders Ericksen and possibly Schaar. Can you tell me what the date is in this record and if it is a birthdate or baptism date? (In looking at 1801 Skaar census records, it appears he was born about 1753). Thank you! Dusty

22nd Sunday after Trinity, 1753
That should be the 18th of November that year.

It reads "Dom: 22 Trinit til Daaben et Drengebarn fra Schar ved Navn Rasmus hwis Forelder er Anders Eriksen og Hustru Ragnild - - "
= 22nd Sunday after Trinity for baptism a male child from Schar - - -.

Thank you both so much for your helpful information!!! Is there some website a person can go to, if I don't understand Latin, and the calendar, that would help explain what these various words mean, such as the 22nd Sunday after Trinity, 1753. How do you figure out that turns out to be Nov. 18th? There is so much to learn with dates! But if I could study some kind of information, maybe I would at least get a clue as to how this works. Thank you again! Dusty
