Margareth Calmer was recorded as lodging at her uncle Harald Oluf Ohlsen in 1875, her grandmother Caroline Ohlsen was also there as a widow.
From the Harald Oluf Alberts bapt record #32 Margareths grandparents were Peter Christian Ohlsen and Caroline Cathrine née Sundt.

Caroline Cathrine Sundt was born May 31 1808, see last record left page. Her parents were Lars Sundt and Karen Dreyer.
The parents and siblings in 1801.

Lars Sundt and Karen Bing Dreyer were married Dec 29 1795 see top of right page.

Hi Lyndal

Things are abit confusing. Thorleif Chalmer Hauff, father is Thorval Westy Hauff b 1841. I am wondering if the Thorvald W Hauff b 1877 is a half brother to Thorleif Chalmer Hauff as we have found that Thorval Westy 1841 was married before to a Alvilde and I have found 3 sons from that marriage so far, ACA Hauff 1871, Alf Hauff 1874 and Bjorn Hauff 1879. Also Thorleif chalmer Hauff must have returned to Norway as he is buried at Ateneosen, Stor Elvdal died 4/8/1957.

eibace, thanks I have some of that info and yours helps.

Shirley

Hi,

I think there is a Christian Hauff in Tacoma who is Bjørn's brother.

Bjørn married in 1913 and died in 1921 in Washington.

And Thorlief Chalmer Hauff also travelled to US in 1918 (on a 4 month permit)

Ancestry.com lists three Hauff's arriving in New York on the Mauretania on 17 Feb 1911. The three are
Thorvald W Hauff b abt 1877
Thorvald Hauff b abt 1906 both of these two individuals are listed on page 37 of the manifest, one below the other so we can assume father and son. .

Horleif C Hauf (I assume the actual name is Thorleif) on page 27 of the manifest

Here is the record listed for Thorvald Hauff.

Name: Thorvald W Hauff
Arrival Date: 17 Feb 1911
Birth Year: abt 1877
