I just want to check whether this is the right family.
Are some of the names familiar to you?

Nordre Rogstad 1801
Nils Endresen b. ab. 1753 i Luster in Sogn County married to Sønnev Andersdatter b.a. 1765.
Lots of children.

The family settled down on farm Berg after 1801 which Nils Endresen bought 1799 for 1000 Daler.
Johannes Nilsen 1798 settled down on farm Hillestad, married Ellen Kirstine Hans-Jørgensdr. Kløvstad .
Children:
- Synnøve bd 1831
- Nils 1832
- Tora Kristine 1833
- Hans Jørgen 1835, to America 1867
- Johan Andreas 1837, to America 1866
- Karen Sofia 1841
- Synnøve Maria 1843, lived in America 1876
- Grete Karine 1845. to America 1870 where she married Chr. Rasmussen
- Jacob Cornelius 1848, lived in America 1876
- Kristian b d 1851

The info I have is that Johannes didn´t die in USA.
Johannes Nilsen died April 4. 1873 on Hillestad and Ellen Kirstine Hans-Jørgensdr. d. March 17. 1881 on Hillestad.

I have photos and more info of these farms if this is the correct family.

There are also three Famly Tree's on Ancestry.com that treat this family in various levels of detail. If you have a subscription to Ancestry you can find a large amount of information on both the US family members and the Norwegian famly members.

This request is also posted on other message boards and forums. Just so that no one wastes time duplicating efforts already taken - those other threads should be made available.

Thank you for posting the pics of the church where Jacob was baptised. It is very very beautiful. And thank you for the other info as well. My daughter and I are very new to ancestry reseach but we've found so far that Jacob and his family are our favorites. Also thank you to everyone that has helped us and who have guided us in our research.
