Andrew Egeland is also in Norway township of Humboldt County for the 1885 Iowa state census and by 1910 he is listed 'Andrew Egland' with his wfie "Anna G. Egland" in Eagle Grove, Wright County -- both in their 40's and listed as having no children.

Norway township of Humboldt County had a very heavily Norwegian population. The biggest little town in the township was Thor and the Lutheran church still there has as yet not allowed film reproduction of their old church records.

I realize that this forum is a few years old, but I just stumbled upon it and got a lot of info, - thanks! However, I understand that you were a bit baffled about Anna Regine Egeland and her birthdate, and I have the explanation. Torkel and Martha Egeland had TWO daughters named Anna Regine. The oldest one was born 22 Aug 1872, but died 17 Jan 1882 in Norway. The younger Anna Regine was then born 7 Nov 1888, so she must be the one who went to the USA.

Greetings from Inger Faber-Swensson in Norway.
