If I can't find the emigration information on a relative on this website, what options do I have to find it? I am researching when some of the children of Sjur Johannesson(b. 1785 Sogndal, Hundere) came to America.
Kristina b 1814 emigrated 1856
Gjertrud b. 1821, emigrated 1856

Both were born in Sogndal, Norway

Ancestry.com has arrival records for New York, Baltimore and Philadelphia. However if the came through Canada there is no way that I know of to find the arrival records.

Ancestry does have some arrivals in Canada but Canada didn't keep records of all until 1865.
