Hi Jan Peter, Thanks for the reply. I am so sorry to waste your time. It was King Oscar and not King Karl. Probably Oscar II. My only excuse is that I was very tired when I sent the question

King Oscar II was 11 years old in 1840.

Yes I see that - which Oscar I more probable - he would have been 42 in 1840
