Sure! It's all in Norwegian: http://home.sf-nett.no/olathors/Nordhaugen_Slektsbok.pdf

Peder Knudsen is #4
Mathias Pedersen is #12

It says that Peder Knudsen was born in 1798, and on the 1865 census with Mathias's family it says 1794: http://digitalarkivet.arkivverket.no/ft/bosted_land/bf01038031009847

Right, so the previous marriage record (with the same date) for Kari and Peder would indicate it's the record for this couple, not my Mathias's parents. Ah the joys of genealogy

I've also found a Mathias Pedersen born March 14, 1832, baptized March 15, 1832 to parents Peder Olsen and Gudbjor Jorgensdr. I'll check into that one as a very weak possibility. I don't think that's right, either though, since it was Peder Knudsen b. 1794 in the census with Mathias's family.

Census-1865 and the marriage record from 1858 between Mathias Pedersen and Agnete Olsdatter shows that the name of Mathias' father is Peder Knudsen. The name of Agnete's father is Ole Larsen.

Peder Knudsen and Kari Torstensdatter were married April 20 1824. see #538 on right page.
Peder was 26 years old and born on Sørhougseie.
Kari was 25 years old and born on Skougseie.

Peder Knudsen and Kari Torstensdatter in 1865.

Peder, his parents and a sister in 1801.

Karie (Kari), her parents and siblings in 1801.

The link to Peder Knudsen and Kari Torstensdatter for census-1865 can't be Mathias' parents. Mathias father is living on Mikkelsveen in 1865.

The marriage record from 10 Feb 1858 shows that Mathias is 26 ½ years old, indicating born summer of 1831. And he is listed as born on Hougsveen.

This is your guy:
#94 Mathias Pedersen
Born: 04 Jul 1831
Christening: 17 Jul 1831, Ringsaker, Hedmark, Norway
Parents; Peder Knudsen & Anne Monsdr, Hougsveen

Emigrant_information
I'm looking for more information on a distant relation - Their names are: Peder Knudsen Hougsveen and his wife Anne Mondsdatter. Their son, Mathias (Matias) Pedersen Maehlumseie, was born July 4, 1831 (according to the Ringsaker parish Register 1826-1837, page 47, no. 94). Mathias and his family are listed in the archives as "Out-migrants in Ringsaker" in 1866 when they emigrated to America. Any help would be great!

I think he must be mixing the two Mathias'.
The one he is looking for (and related to) is Mathias Pedersen Maehlumseie. This Mathias is born Jan 1 1832, and is the son of Peder Knudsen and Kari Torstensdatter, nordre Mæhlumseie.

Jan Peter, you're a star! Thank you so much for your help.

It's definitely easy to mix things up with so many similar names.

This should be Peder Knudsen in census-1801:
Knud Pedersen 32
Berthe Olsdtr 34
Lisbeth Knudsdtr 8
Karie Knudsdtr 5
Peder Knudsen 2

Some confusion about his y.o.b.
1) Census-1865 say 1794
2) Marriage record from 1830 say 1798
3) Census-1801 indicate 1799

1799 must be the correct y.o.b. for Peder Knudsen:

Name: Peder Knudsen
Gender: Male
Baptism/Christening Date: 14 Jul 1799
Baptism/Christening Place: Ringsaker, Hedmark, Norway
Birth Date:
