Hello,
I am looking for information on my great grandparents, In particular any information on their lifes (parents, siblings, birth, where lived, marriage, etc) in Norway before they came to the USA.

I believe Thomas M Sandal was born in 1886 in Oslo/Kristiania, arrived in the USA 15 May 1907 on the Hellig Olav, residing in the USA until his death in 1964.
His middle name might be Martin.

Dagny Jonette Fredrekka Sandal nee Anderson/-sen, born 1886, arriving in the USA 1 Sept 1908 on the C F Tietgen, residing in the USA until her death in 1977.

Together they had 5 children: Eva, Arne, Ralph, Ruth, Mae.

Any information regrading their lives in Norway would be very interesting.

Thank you in advance.

Dagny and the child Eva left from Oslo on or about 21 Aug 1908. The home residence for them listed indicates the street where they had lived in the city of Oslo.

Thomas left on or about 3 May 1907 listing his name as Thomas Martinius Gulbrands(en) Sandal.

In the 1900 Norwegian census he is living with his parents and several siblings in Aker district of Norway.

Here are his parents and siblings and nephew in 1910, a very nice census since it gives full birthdate:

http://digitalarkivet.arkivverket.no/ft/person/pf01036392209931

If you click on the sister born in 1876, you will find that she has also been to America, last living there in 1909 in Cleveland Ohio. It says she left Kristiania in 1901 but in the other version of the 1900 census she is listed with a temporary address of "Tyskland"-- Germany.

Here are 3 siblings of Thomas leaving through Kristiania for America:

18.05.1909 21.05.1909 Rakel Sandal k ug forretnd. 13.05.89 Seildugsgt. 19 III New York skal gifte sig 220 Kjerschow United States

Sara's arrival in New York, going to sister Martha Sandal looks like Branson from ellisisland:

Searching in Norway Baptisms at familysearch.org found these children of Arne Gulbrandsen & Amalia Olsen:

Agnes Gustava 22 Dec 1875
Marta Kristine 31 Jan 1878
Thomas Martinus 14 Oct 1880
Sara Elisabeth 27 Apr 1883
Jakob Cornelius 21 Dec 1884
Tomas Martinus 18 Dec 1886

The parents were married on 21 Sept 1873 in Grønland church. Arne's father is Gulbrand Knudsen, Arne born 1851
Amalia's father is Ole Olsen, Amalia b 1852

Marta Kristine must be the Martha Sandal Branson that Sara went to in 1907. She is also likely this Martha Sandal, aged 35 divorced, marrying 2nd in Hill county Montana:
