Freksbraaten was an abbr. for Fredriksbraaten, and origin it was a sub farm under Haugerud.
The local name was Kåven.

Olias father Lars Johnsen also owned another farm under Haugerud named Svenskeenga local called Svensken (The Swede) Probably because a former owner was from Sweden.

He also owned and cultivated Freksbraaten, but the nessesary papers was not signed, not until 1869.

A summary of this document on farm 354 Freksbraaten tells that Elling Olsen Elsrud sold the farm to Lars Johnsen Svensken on Dec. 15. 1869, reg. in the public register Jan.14. 1870.

In the 1886 matrikkel (farm register not online) Lars Jonsen was owner of both farms.
He died of cancer on Svensken July 18. 1894.
his wife Anne Olsdatter from Jøranby died of tuberculosis on Svensken Oct. 6. 1898.

This was very interesting!

I am looking for information about Anna/Annie Syverson/Seaverson/Severson, do you have something about her and her first husband?

I am wondering if she can be born in Ådal, like Erick. Her descendants say she was born i Odan, but there is no place in Norway by that name..

Looking very much forward to your answere!

WOW!
This looks to be the right one, but here it looks like _her_ last name was Siverson????

His name was Siverson too....

John Seaverson or something like that :-P

But John Gilbertson, what can the Norwegian name be then? We had 3-4 people by that name in 1865, but no-one in the age to be Johns father. John was born about 1847-48.

Maybe it was swedish, I think Gilbert is more common in Sweden.

Sorry for the confusion her name is given as Gilbertson, his as Siverson.

Here is a Jon Seaverson who died in 1891 and is buried in Landstad cemetery in findagrave:
