Reed was NOT their last name -- it was their address.

Online study material to learn about Norwegian naming practices and patterns:

I did not see anything except his parents' last names - Reed. #33 Who was Rasmus Williamsen Reed on the end of column "Om og at beem biemmebst"
- you see that the parents were living at Reed (not their last name) - Mons would have been born there then.
Rasmus Willumsen, Reed was the one who baptized Mons at home - column heading "Om og af hvem hjemmedøbt" - whether and by whom baptized at home.

Thor Pedersen Reed (1832) married Anna Catherine Christophersdatter ? (cannot read) on Apr. 17, 1859
- Anne Cathrine Christophersdatter came from Aarstad parish, her father was servant Christopher Olsen.

Anne Cathrines baptismal record is #5.

David Pedersen Reed (1837) I cannot find who he married to. He died Nov. 4, 1848
- considering he was 11 years old when he died it is unlikely that he was married.

I found that Rasmus Wilhelmsen Mockelbust married Mons' maternal grandmother, Kari Rasmusdatter (Saarem) Reed. Rasmus was her second husband. Her first husband Arne Brynildsen Reed died 1827 (no full date).Maybe he was lost in Sea or Mountain. Rasmus and Kari were married June 5, 1831. Interesting.

Enar, I try to understand the Norwegian system in birth, marriage and death. They are much diferent from German and French. I am learning everyday. Thanks for ."Om og af hvem hjemmedøbt" - whether and by whom baptized at home. Now I caught it.

David Pedersen Reed - Make a sense that he died at young age. Christopher Olsen ................. I could not read is so hard for me. thanks.

Good information about translating the formats of Norwegian parish church records during various time periods, many of the basic terms used and understanding how to use the information should be studied at this web site -
