My brother submitted his DNA to National Geographic Project and now needs all info on Maternal side available. You've already helped with the following, I'm wondering if it's possible to go back even farther, I'll start with my great grandmother then back: Endrine Christophersdatter DOB 1848 in Sund, Norway.
Her mother: Anne Endresdatter DOB 1812, Storeboe,Sund.
Next: Gjertrud Johanesdatter DOB 1774 in Kolbensvig, Sund.
Next: Guri Hermansdatter DOB unknown in Lochoen, Hordaland, Norway.

The collection of Sund parish records microfilmed by the LDS church indicates that church records for Sund are available for years as early as 1729 -- so yes, there would be a chance you could research earlier than Gjertrud Johannesdtr.

Without any clue of when Guri Hermansdtr was born that would be very very challenging so I suggest that you check the 1801 Norwegian census database for her and see if at least an approximate year of birth might be recorded there, if she is still alive in 1801. Then you could search through the parish records for her birth/parentage.

You could also make efforts to research in the published history/genealogy book for that district; “Bygdebok for Sund: Eit lite utsnitt av Sund si soge”, by Hummelsund, Johannes Evensen.

Candidate for Gjertrud Johanesdatter, Kolbensvig in 1801.

(The Gjertrud born 1774 is said to be married in the 1801 census, see 1818, but when Gjertrud and Endre were married she is said to be a maiden.)

Hi Einar, Thanks for this information, but doesn't the word "Ugift" mean single unmarried? That's how Giertrud Johannesdatter is listed on the 1801 census you sent me. I Have her parents with no ages as Johannes Olsen and Guri Hermansdatter. Guri is from Lochoen.

I have added a link to the 1801 with Gjertrud born 1774, she is said to be married 1. time being a servant at Logøen.

Here is a link to her baptism Oct 30 1774, 4th child in 2nd column.
Parents as you said Johannes Olsen and Guri Hermansdatter, but living at Lochøen.

Is Lochoen in the Sund District? And, do the Bygdeboks have records of deaths or funerals. If so, could you connect me to a starting page for 1770's,1780's and 1790's so I can scroll through and see if I can find Guri and Johannes. Since they weren't in the 1801 census I think they may not still be alive at that time. Thanks for all the help
