Lauritz Philip Meltzer (1861-1943), headstone.
Lauritz had 7 children with 5 different women, but were never married. He was a Norwegian engineer, officer, businessman and philanthropist, best known for being the founder of the Meltzer Prize. His grandfather Fredrik Meltzer (1779-1855) was a member of the first Norwegian Parlament in 1814.

Fredrik Meltzer (1779-1855)

Lauritz and Anne Marie Charlotte's son Harald Edvard Meltzer Solheim (1892-1966) was a fosterchild already in 1900.
I can't find Anne Marie Charlotte in the Norwegian 1900 or 1910 census, so it seems like she is either dead or have emigrated by 1900.

I found a sister, Julie Meltzer, apparently one of Lauritz's children, as well as her 1/2 brother Harald. Both are in the Casper Family Tree which I am completing on Ancestry.com. Beautiful picture!

I was confused, Julie is Harald's wife! I am finding really interesting documents as I enter these individuals on Ancestry.com. Some of the documents have children's names, as well, such as Census documentation.

This is interesting, even though Lauritz Meltzer is not a blood relative, my son, Johnathon M. Palmer, will become a Civil Engineer soon. He is in his last year of college at University of N. FL in Civil Engineering! He & Lauritz will share that common thread. Pretty neat!

Since Lauritz was a descendant after one of the 112 Norwegian men who participated in the 1814 constitution, you will find a lot of familyhistory related to him. A project is ongoing, to trace all descendants from these 112 men, and to put it on http://eidsvollsmenn.no

Lauritz had 7 children, with 5 different women:
#10 Ludvig b. 06 Jan 1886. Mother: Ottilie Caroline Andersen
#31 Egil August b. 28 Aug 1887. Mother: Anna Elisabeth Johannessen
#20 Harald Edvard b. 01 Oct 1892. Mother: Anna Marie Charlotte Guttormsen
Wally b. 09 Nov 1898. Mother: Anna Maria Monsine Sjurset
Laurentze b. 30 Dec 1899. Mother: Anna Maria Monsine Sjurset
#84 Kristian Fredrik b. 18 Jun 1901. Mother: Anna Maria Monsine Sjurset
#94 Fritjof b. 14 Dec 1903. Mother: Karen Monsen. Census-1910
