Searching info on spouse of Siri Bertosen Nordbo immigrated 1888 to North Dakota...married Ingebrigt Olsen Polle(name change to Foss in US 1891 in Lakota North Dakota.
Siri Bertosen Nordbo born 03/18/1870 immigrated 06/01/1888 from Kristiansand...
Was inquiring if there were recent bygdebok's published which gave information on the family in the US. Siri immigrated with her brother and his family.'to Nelson County North Dakota.

Yes...thank you....the Polle family in Norway had Ingebrigt Olsen Polle as moving to Bronnoy, however that was his cousin Ingebrit Nicoli. The issue that seems strange is that I can find no shipregister or passport exit infomation for Ingebrigt Olsen Polle who changed his name in US to Engebret Foss. So I have Ingebrigt in 1875 census and then nothing further seems to pop up in the Norwegian records. I thought maybe a newer bygdebok of Evje/Nordbo farm would have more info on Ingebrigt/spouse of Seri. It would seem to me he would have records of leaving Strinda and going somewhere else and then records of passage to US but have not found anything yet.

The info on his parentage, where he 1st immigrated to(Ishpeming Michigan), where he married(Lakota North Dakota...records in Lakota destroyed by fire and records in Grand Forks ND destroyed by flood), came from his daughter in the 70's. Naturalization record has no listing of parentage. or former name. The next place to look for marriage records may be the Lutheran Church records in central file. I did find an Ingebrigt Olsen leaving Norway in 1881 said to be 26 years old from Verde? The age is off by 5 years/but the info given by daughter had his birth in 1857. Would that be Vaalen Verde in Southern Norway...south of Oslo...this person was going to Quebec which would be consistent with Ishpeming Michigan as a starter. I have all the relevant ancestor information from Norway. It is just the exit I was looking for. I am going to get the Death Certificate and see what that says. I will have to search Points of Entry from Quebec too. Thank You.

Ingebrigt is born 1860, and emigrated in 1887. Thus about 27 y.o. at the emigration. Give and take a few years, he must be between 25-30.
Possibilities from Trondheim:
25.03.1886 Ingebrikt Løkken (25) res: Rindalen , dest: Wahpleton Dakota (American citizen)
21.04.1886 Ingebrigt Thoresen (26) res: Rindalen , dest: Eau Claire, Wisc
05.05.1886 Ingebrigt Paulsen (25) res: Størdalen , dest: Colman, Dakota
05.05.1886 Ingebrigt P. Garberg (25) res: America , dest: Chicago, Illinois
06.04.1887 Ingebrigt K. Danolia (28) res: Oppdal , dest: Sioux City Iowa
11.05.1887 Ingebrigt S. Risnes (26) res: Vefsen , dest: Mason, Wisc
01.06.1887 Ingebrigt Hovind (25) res: Horrig , dest: Menomonie, Wisc
06.07.1887 Ingebrigt Knudsen (28) res: Overhalden , dest: Thomson, Minn
09.05.1888 Ingebrigt Vold (28) res: Støren , dest: Menomonie Wisc
20.06.1888 Ingebrigt Petter Ingebrigtsen (27) res: Sweden , dest: Emerson Manitoba

You are misinformed. Here's a link to Grand Forks county marriages seach engine pre 1925ish:

As to Lakota, I've never heard of a courthouse fire. Here's what Handybook for genealogists says paraphrasing:
Clerk of Court has m[arriages] from 1880.

Thanks..but did not have luck there either. There was a fire in the 30's in Lakota and floods in Grand Forks later /some records survived.

Sounds like you've already looked at these. from the SD Historical Society website first papers:

Foss Englebright Codington 09/28/1892 Norway 209 169
Foss Englebrigt Lawrence 09/22/1892 Norway 549 51

Did you get both?

The Fss from Lawrence Co is the right one...2nd papers were done in 1903 Roberts Co SD....no info on parentage....I'm confident I have the right parents in Norway...it is just that the paperwork from the Polle family in Norway had him going to Bronnoy when it was his cousin Ingebrigt Nicolai...so was just trying to find a departure for him and/or migration within Norway. Thanks.

His first papers are likely to contain information as to when he approximately came to US (like a month and a year) and the name of the port he came into US. Getting the journey information was what you wanted....

I could send for the 1st papers but the office of vital statistics said there was not much info on prior 1900 applications. It looks like the above two reference the 1st papers done in Lead Lawrence Co and the 2nd papers done Roberts co with Codington as the circuit court.. Thanks....

Exactly but the usual information is the name of the person, which government they are giving up (in this case the king og Norway and Sweden) when they came to US --the month and year and which port they arrived in US at. I don't know how many naturalizations the folks in Vital Records have looked at but me, personally, its something in the neighborhood of 75 or so.

But I can tell you I have never seen a death certificate with information about when a person arrived in US & at which port, One might exist but in my 30 years + experience I must have missed it!

Good luck to you!!
