There are wrongspellings in the parish records and the censuses (the origin is kept, will be corrected later) There was no one to check/correct what the priest wrote.
Nor that someone should wonder about it ca 200 years later

Ambjĝrn is a mans name, contra Ambjĝrg, a female name.
The fathers name was used also for children born out of wedloc, but they were not heirs to the father.

No one sems to know where Narve Trulsen came from. Narve-Narverud? I have seen his last name spelled Narve Tordsen. Narverud is a farm in Eiker parish, neighbor parish to Kongsberg. I also belive is was a farm Narverud, a sub farm under farm Rĝnningsdalen in Gransherad, neighbor parish to Jondalen whics also has a Narverud farm.

You refer to the 1776 record? In those days, that was very common.

Narve Trulsens fathet was Truls.
A Truels Olsen Narverud married Gunor Knudsdatter Nattestad from Nattestad in Veggli in Numedal on Sept. 12. 1749. 3. column 20-21 line from top, click here
If someone can find a Narve Trulsen b. ca 1775 plus/minus in Kongsberg we can be almost sure it is your Narve Trulsen.
Now I saw you had found him on page 2 Jan Peter
He was the only Narve Trulsen in Kongsberg/Sandsvĉr 1801.

Narve Trulsen Narverud was confirmated in Kongsberg church April 11. 1790, link
The origin of Truls Olsen Narverud was probably Narverud in Gransherad. A Ole Narvesen from Narverud in Gransherad/Jondalen had a son Truls Olsen b. ca 1715 married to Gunor Knudsdatter.

You are welcome.
Found this page, it confirm the info above. Truls Olsen Narverud had 3 siblings. 4 children. Owner: Per Evensen, Norway.
Reg. Nattestad; Gunor Knudsdatter Nattestad was probably a sister to Ole and Anstein Knudsen Nattestad who em. to USA 1837. Lots of pages about them online, here is Ole link.
