The closest match on the NY passenger lists has a "Aafor Simson" arriving on May 25, 1882. However, if you look at the actual passenger list - the first name is different and may be "Borry."

Looking at other ports of emigration, other than Oslo. Here is Emigranter over Ålesund 1878-1930.

The only one here is Børre Justen Seim, who I think we looked at earlier.

And from
Emigranter fra Kristiansand 1873-1930

Borild J Jakobsen, would not have arrived until June.

Perhaps a younger brother, Just Justeson Siem leaving for Wisconsin:

Sister Ane Justsdatter still on Siem in 1900:

Sister Ane was the taxpayer of record in 1886on Siem:

Good reminder lyndal40. Børge Justeson of Siem was our "favorite." Born 10 July 1859 - which is a match to brejohn's Borre (in so far as we can know his true birth date). Could that name "Siem" could possibly be related to the "Samson" name?

Brejohns has found Borre (a least a solid candidate for Borre) in Black River Falls, Wisconsin, before he came to North Dakota. The brother Just had a destination of Wisconsin when he emigrated in 1884.

Going back and looking at our earlier posts, this one again catches my eye. The arrival date is good, the birth year fits the new info that Brejohns provided. He is probably the brother to Just Siem. Looking at the orginal manifest the T shown below could easily be a J.

Might be him arriving. No other useful info in the manfest.

New York, Passenger Lists, 1820-1957
Name: Borre T Sieon
Arrival Date: 25 May 1882
Birth Date: abt 1859
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Place of Origin: Norwege
Port of Departure: Glasgow, Scotland and Moville, Ireland
Destination: United States of America
Port of Arrival: New York, New York
Ship Name: Bolivia

Just leaving Eid in 1884.

http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=6385&idx_id=6385&uid=ny&idx_side=-132

And Borge leaving in 1882.

http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=6385&idx_id=6385&uid=ny&idx_side=-130

Earlier in this post we seem to have stopped looking at how these two individuals could realate to Borre and Gust. Perhaps we need to go back and see if we can find a direct connection between them.

There was a Gust Johnson and Bernt Johnson in Rice Township Rolette County, but they were 2 separate men from Borre Johnson. I don't believe they were related either, but I could be wrong. On the tax rolls in1896 all 3 men are listed separately on the same page.

Not sure what records you're talking about - are they posted? You're concluded who isn't related to whom, and why, how? It's a long thread. You did report back re. tax rolls search earlier - I'll go look.
