Would some be able to tell me what line number 143 of this document says? I am looking for a Johannes Kristianson born around 1866. Hopefully the parents would be Kristian Hendrikson and Karen Mortensdatter.

Barb, your link does not go to #143. The address in your browser window does not go the the image. The correct information is what is contained in the blue bar above the image (if you choose to put the image at top or bottom.)

Here is #143 in that same image group. It's the baptism of a daughter named Amalie in Aasnĉs.
Source information: Hedmark county, Ċsnes, Parish register (official) nr. 0 (1866-1872), Birth and baptism records 1867, page 11.
Permanent pagelink: http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=4995&idx_id=4995&uid=ny&idx_side=-14

Is this the entry you question?

Sorry about the link. I can never get them to work correctly. Your link goes to the same "book" I was looking at....but go back to page 5. On that page is a Johannes on line 143. Sorry and thanks.

Yes, I also need to learn this - how to make the small tidy links instead of the long messy links.

I once made an informative instruction, anyone who send an e-mail will recieve an answer with this example.

To post a Hyperlink.
I have to use my key-board.

1- Enter "Reply to Topic" and click on the blue ikon (Insert Hyperlink) and it looks like this;
(url)(url)

-2 Insert numbers and figures, ex. you want to post Oslo in English from Wikipedia;
(url="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oslo")Oslo(url) and Post

-3 The result; Oslo

I wrote down this help for making working URL links to the scanned parish records at the Digitalarkivet website several years ago. Try --

When you've studied and used the instructions and been able to find a scanned page on the Digitalarkivet that you'd like to capture as a URL to share with someone else or save for your family history documentation - just copying the URL that your browser shows will NOT provide a working link for longer than about 1/2 an hour -- it only works very temporarily.

Working direct links to the scanned images on the Digitalarkivet can be copied and pasted from the desired page from a display option available. At the top of the scanned image page is an option labeled "Bildeinformasjon:" [Norwegian version]/"Image Information"[English version] which is by default set to "Ingen" [Norwegian version]/"None" [English version]. Change that and magic is available. Of the three options I like "Ĝverst" [Norwegian version]/"On top" [English version] because it puts the additional information across the top of the page and is usually easier for me to see.

The first line "Kildeinformasjon:" [Norwegian version]/"Source information" [English version] is a really nice summary of the source of the information and is wonderful to have for making detailed source citations, footnotes, etc.

The second line "Permanent sidelenke:" [Norwegian version]/"Permanent pagelink" [English version] is the best line to capture if you want to save the exact URL location or share the actual scanned image and the source information. It allows the full capabilities for zooming in and out to best view the image and informs the recipient of the exact location, book and other details to be able to find WHERE you found the information.

The third line "Permanent bildelenke:" [Norwegian version]/"Permanent imagelink" [English version] is the best used to print a copy of the image or to save a copy of the image in a jpg format computer file. This line does NOT also capture the source information and therefore is NOT the best line to copy to share online when requesting help or assistance in deciphering the image found.

Good information about translating the formats of Norwegian parish church records during various time periods, many of the basic terms used and understanding how to use the information should be studied at this web site -

You did not quite make it with the link, you probably mean this.

Johannes parents are Christian Hendriksen and Karen Mortensdatter, Flisbroen.

You did everything right exept for that you did not post the Permanent pagelink in the scanned parish register who have "eternal life"

Follow Hopkins instructions.

Link to page 5 of Hedmark fylke, Ċsnes, Ministerialbok nr. 0 (1866-1872). Child Johannes listed as entry #143.

Father is Christian KorH????sen F??? he is listed as 'Hmd' as are most of the fathers on that page. Hmd is an abbreviation - see online dictionary.
http://home.online.no/~otjoerge/files/word.htm

Mother's given name MIGHT start with K? definitely includes letters r and n. Her patronymic name starts with M.

So 1865 census for Ċsnes should help. Yes a couple appears there which is probably a match -

Thanks everybody. Next time I try to do a link I will practice a little more.

OK...one more question. If I read correctly, Johannes is a MALE on this listing, Correct??? Also, the Kristian Hendrickson and Karen Mortensdatter from Flisbroen are the one's I was looking for. BUT, on the immigration ship records and census forms from America this person seems to be always listed as a FEMALE!?!? Any thoughts on that?
Thanks

Exactly what records show that person later as female? When? Where?

This shows them on the ship. I also have the handwritten records. There seemed to be wrong entries but it is the same family.

Emigranter

I have a thread that covered Ole Gunderson in 2012 that this all was discussed but I am having more questions now. This group changed their names to Johnson upon arrival in 1870.
