| Maybe you should contact the Schubert family in NSW, work backwards to see if you can put that "rumor" to rest. Looks like the evidence I can find points that the rumor of him being Schubert are true He disappeared, nobody knows what happened to Schubert, his sister is Christina... .At least you'd know one way or another. Maybe he was hiding something? I am sure it would be a relief to find out either way. I have plenty of surprises I have found out looking for information on long lost relatives. |

This information was found on a Family Tree posted on Ancestry.com and seems to be the evidence that is used to show that James H Schubert and Edward De Leiuen are one and the same person.

Not all of them tho. One Family Tree on Ancestry.com has the family of Joseph Schubert b 1854 NSW and his wife Lucy Clayton Hadley b 1859 NSW and their 14 children including James Hadley Schubert. Oldest Joseph born in 1878 and youngest Lennox Garfield Roy born in 1904. James Hadley is a middle child born in 1892. His father Joseph Schubert was born in 1854 in NSW and the partriach of the family was

And to add to that theory..there has never been a death certificate for James Hadley Shubert..and yes he was born in Australia...looks like it could be down to dna...it w
ould be nice to know our correct heritage.. |

Yes exploring DNA seems in this case to be a viable option. Edward James De Lieuen had a son
Hessell Aubrey De LIEUEN who may have a son still alive.
James Hadley Schubert had ten brothers, I would expect that at least one of them has a son still alive
That would at least give you a DNA comparison between male second cousins, not bad for DNA work.
