Hei. Great picture of him in uniform in the Royal guard. Perhaps he lived as Sveen in USA. Wait until our American friends on this forum wakes up.

So far I'm drawing blanks for Ole Storsveen. I've looked in ELCA databases of marriages and deaths and not found. Other than the things already found, I've seen nothing promising at familysearch.org. I've searched newspapers at Chronicling America, genealogybank.com, and newspapers.com but seen nothing.
1. Perhaps he went by Pederson once he got here? A long shot and there will be lots of candidates to search when looking for Ole Pederson.
2. Did the folks at Bessemer search Newspaperarchives.com? There are a number of Bessemer Michigan papers in the database...
3. Did Ole have any other family ever come to US? Thinking like aunts, uncles or siblings any who might have been at Bessemer or elsewhere. |

This looks like the whole family in 1875 Norwegian Census. Includes Ola (Ole?) and Erling as well.

Following up on Jackies Philadelphia record Ancestry.com suggests this record. He is living in a rooming house with a large number of people. A long shot?

Both of the Erling Pedersen emigration records (1906 and 1922) are the younger brother of Ole. Here is Erling's confirmation #14 with notation about an attest in 1906: Source information: Hedmark county, Trysil in Trysil, Parish register (official) nr. 9 (1881-1897), Confirmation records 1884, page 18. There is an Ole Pedersen (Ole Pederson spelled both ways) living in Itasca County, Minnesota. He is listed as having arrived in various years, including 1890, 1880 and 1882. His first child Martha was born in Norway and in some records is referred to as Martha Hansen and as his step-daughter. His second child Robert was born in Michigan. He is also found in the 1900 US Census in Wisconsin. He is a long shot but the closest I have found. So I am going to post all that I have found.
