Permanent pagelink: http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=7495&idx_id=7495&uid=ny&idx_side=-72

This Niels' death #18 males (left page):
Source information: Østfold county, Tune, Parish register copy nr. I 1 (1815-1822), Death and burial records 1816, page 192-193.
Permanent pagelink: http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=7496&idx_id=7496&uid=ny&idx_side=-100

Claus Tolfsen's death #28:
Source information: Østfold county, Tune, Parish register copy nr. I 1 (1815-1822), Death and burial records 1821, page 238-239.
Permanent pagelink: http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=7496&idx_id=7496&uid=ny&idx_side=-122

Another rather troubling thing about Anne Tolfsdatter is her age at death about 68 years. This means a 60 year old woman was giving birth at the time Hans Rasmussen was born.

Not a word for word, but appears to be a paragraph from the Tune Historie a bygdebok in which Rasmus Hansen is discussed. A different patronymic name is noted for him of Monsen.

The second paragraph is about the terms of the contract Anders Hansen signed to be husman on a Greaker farm.

Some others on the forum will do better for a translation than me.

One thing in the first paragraph it alludes to an estate filing following Anne's death which if true would be a really interesting record to find.

It appears there are discrepancies in Rasmus' name, Anne's deathdate etc. as quoted from the bygdebok.

You are able to view the actual parish records in question (which is exactly what source the bygdebok author would have viewed ) and see for yourself if it is Monsen or Olson. I've been through all the deaths in Tune from 1815-1840 and found no Rasmus Olsen and no Rasmus Monsen. Likewise all the female deaths 1815-1829 in Tune and there are only two adult Anne Tolfsdatters noted.

Rasmus Monsen Bentemyr (in the church books Hansen) his wife Anne Tollefsdatter and a son Hans age 11? lived on Bentemyr in 1826 when Anne died. They lived in a "gammel brøstferdig hytte" "old rickety cabin"
There were nothing to record in the probate after Anne.

If Anne died in 1826, would it be normal to have probate records in 1829 ?

Ho, it was written when Rasmus remarried with Helene Hansdatter... So that makes sense.

Thanks a lot! :-)

A short summary, several words are hard to decipher

Aar 1829 den 16de December

Leader of the probate court was (Lensmand) Sheriff Thore Halvorsen Vister and Eric Engebretsen Bentemyr for widower Rasmus Monsen (Hansen) Bentemyr on farm Vister in Tune parish after the death of wife Anne Tolfsdatter.

ON TOP LAST CHAPTER;
Guardian for Rasmus and the son Hans Rasmussen age 11 was Hans Christensen Vister.

At the end of the probate, signatures.
The widower and his sons "formynder" guardian Hans Christensen Vister.
(Sheriff) Thor (Halvorsen) Vister and Eric Engebretsen

Guardian for children under age in a probate was normal, and perhaps Rasmus could not read or write.

Correct name of farm Greaker was Greaker Østre (Eastern Greaker) which means there were several Greaker farms in 1875
Only your ancestor Robert A. and Thorvald are missing.
Not sure why August Samuelsen and Johan R. Andersen is recorded between Hans Rasmusen and his wife.

Not sure who the persons recorded after Julius age 8 are.

But if Rasmus was born circa 1795, then her wife shouldn't be born on 1775, right?
