It does happen and besides what's the record the that gives his age? His death gives it as approximately 1790 (age 50 yrs in 1840). There is no record of his death in 1860.

You wanted to know about Anne Tolvsdatter. There were two in the 1801 census in Tune. Others could have moved to Tune between 1801 and 1814 but that is unknowable since those records weren't kept at the time. Both of the Anne Tolvsdatters in 1801 in Tune were born there. The younger one was a child of Tolv Madsen and Johanne Jacobsdatter and she died in 1823. The other was the child of Tolv Kystolson and Marie Halvorsdatter. They are both accounted for.

I know it sounds wacky but what I think happened was Rasmus Hansen Bøhlen moved to Tune from Eidsberg. He was a husman on Bentemyr. He found a partner on a neighboring farm Lunnestad, they had a child and married shortly after the birth. Then they had another child, and another and another. Each of these children died but one. There were no more children and the wife dies in 1827.

Of course this theory depends on Rasmus Olsen Bøhlen from Eidsberg being the same person as Rasmus Hansen Bøhlen that his patronymic was horribly misrepresented in the first three records in Tune (the birth of daughter #1, the marriage and the birth of daughter #2) for whatever reason and that no other Anne Tolvsdatter moved to Tune.

Here are all the Ann* Tol* residing in Østfold in the 1801 census, all birthyears. There are only 14. A study could be made of them all to see if there is any evidence they went to Tune, married and died there or married, then went to Tune and died there. Someone could expand the coverage in Tune by looking at all the marriages from 1801-1814 to see if there is a marriage for an Anne Tolvsdatter or a death for an Anne Tolvsdatter or any other record which has an unknown Anne Tolvsdatter.

The only thing that is 100% sure is that Rasmus Hansen and Anne Tolfsdatter married before Sept. 28. 1817 when a son Hans (he died young) was bapt in Tune Church.
Parents; Cottager under Søndre Vister Rasmus Olsen Bentemyr and wife Anne Tolfsdatter

Okay so find the marriage of Rasmus Hansen and Anne Tolfvsdatter. It's not in Tune, not in Edsberg, not in Rakkestad nor in Ønso.

This is all very confusing:

So we could have:

#1 Rasmus Hansen (or Monsen) (20-4-1798 to 1860) born in Trømborg sup-parish in Eidsberg, living in Bentemyr (was 31 in his second marriage in 1829 to Helene Hansdatter, no death record)
- Father is Hans Rasmussen Jaren (Jahren) (according to record of his 2nd marriage)
- Married to Marie Anne Tolfsdatter ( 1798 in Bentemyr ? - 1826, no birth records, no death record) circa 1814 in Tune (but no records)
- They were living in Bentemyr when his wife died in 1826.
- In 1842, marriage of Han Rasmussen confirms his father's name: Rasmus Hansen
or

#2 Rasmus Hansen (or Olsen) Bøhlen from Bentemy (no birth date) married to Anne Katrine Tolfsdatter (13-4-1775 to 29-3-1827 in Tune)

- There's a Rasmus Hansen Bøhlen confirmed in Edsberg in 1810 (age 17 1/2)
- First child: Hellene Rasmusdatter (illegitmate) - born 8 nov 1814 in Tune - died in 10 Dec 1814 in Bentemyr
- Second child : Marthe Maria Rasmusdatter - 20 mar 1816 in Tune
- So Rasmus marriage was after nov 1814 (because the first child was illegitmate).

There were 2 Hans Rasmussen born in Tune from parents Rasmus Hansen and Marie Anne Tolfsdatter:

#1 born in 18 sep 1817 (died same year)
#2 born in 12 Dec 1818

Rasmus Hansen (or Monsen or Olsen) had 3 children with his second wife Helene:
Joahn Martin Rasmussen
Hjalmar Rasmusen
Sigrid Rasmussen

Their descendants live in Bentemyr, Greaker and Sarpsborg.

Maybe if we could find these birth records, we could find some more info on Rasmus?

So back to the same issue, knowing who she is is key, who is Anne Tolvsdatter?

The one identified in her death record in 1827 is Ane Katrine Tolvsdatter as the wife of husmand Rasmus Hansen aged "about 68" years is the one you want.

So far only one Ane Katrine Tolvsdatter has been found being born, Anne Cathrina Tolvsdatter bap 1775 in Tune. If the age at death is correct (which I doubt since biology figures much more in a woman's fertility with advancing years) that means she was born in 1759 (age 68 in 1827), in her late fifties when the 2 Hans' were born, extremely unlikely events for a woman of that age.

Anne Cathrine Tolvsdatter has a brother named Claus. She is living with him, his wife & child and his mother (and listed as her daughter) in 1801. Claus Tolvson was one of the bondsmen or witnesses to an Anne Tolvsdatter's wedding in 1814. Anne Tolvsdatter was faddernes (godmother) to a son of Claus's baptized in 1806. In not one of these records is she called Anne Marie or Marie Anne Tolvsdatter.

Okay here are all the Rasmus's of any age or last name living in Tune in 1801:

Rasmus Andersen 1798* Deres børn Thunøe: Berge Folketelling 1801 for 0130P Tune prestegjeld

Rasmus Christianssen 1796* Hendes børn Thunøe: Ødegaard, Plads Folketelling 1801 for 0130P Tune prestegjeld

Rasmus Erichsen 1776* Deres børn Ugift Thunøe: Baand Plads Folketelling 1801 for 0130P Tune prestegjeld

Rasmus Syversen 1799* Deres børn Thunøe: Dalen Plads Folketelling 1801 for 0130P Tune prestegjeld

There is no Rasmus Hansen / Monson/ Olson so one has to be imported to Tune. The only record which contains an age for Rasmus Hansen is the death record in 1840 in Tune which gives his age as 50 years, so meaning born about 1790.

The only marriage record in Tune between 1811-1820 for a Rasmus and an Anne Tolvsdatter is the one in 1814. The groom is identified as
"Rasmus Olson Bøhlen from Eidsberg". Again in this marriage record she is not identified as Anne Marie or Marie Anne Tolvsdatter but only as Anne Tolvsdatter. No age is given for either party in the marriage record.

Here are all the Rasmus' in Eidsberg in 1801:
Rasmus Syversen 1785* Hendes børn af første ægtesk Ugift Edsberg: Hage Østre Folketelling 1801 for 0125P Eidsberg prestegjeld

Sure that's possible. But then what happened to the Anne Tolvsdatter he was married to and what happened to Rasmus Olson? By the late 18teens the migration records kept in the parish are available and they are not there. Likewise there is no death recorded for either of them other than the great possibility Anne Tolvsdatter who married in 1814 is the same woman as who died in 1827 as Ane Katrin Tolvsdatter.

There were two children born to Rasmus Olsen and Anne Tolfsdatter

Hellene Rasmusdatter born 8 Nov 1814
and
Marthe Maria Rasmusdatter born 20 Mar 1816

There were two children born to Rasmus Hansen and Anne Tolfsdatter

Hans Rasmussen born 18 Sep 1817
and
Hans Rasmussen born 12 Dec 1818

It is possible that Rasmus Olsen and Rasmus Hansen are the same person and there is only one Anne Tolfsdatter

But it is a stretch to think that he would be called Olsen in three records, marriage and two births and called Hansen in two births.

Although I did notice that Rasmus Olsen is referred to as Rasmus Olsen Westen something ? in the birth record for Martha Maria and that Rasmus Hansen has the attachment of Bentmyr under Visten in the birth record for the second Hans. They are probably the same place

Also one of the witnesses for one of the Hans was named Sven Svensen L???? and that one of the witnesses for Martha Maria was also named Sven L????? both look like the same person. And Anne Talfsdatter in the marriage record for her and Rasmus Olsen Bohle seems to carry the same farm name. It is hard for me read but it could be Lundestad.

From Oluf Rygh for Tune

Listen over gårder er hentet fra "Norske Gaardnavne".
