Wow thank you so much. I sent the message last night and woke up this morning with so much new info. Thank you !! I have been looking everywhere for something to see if it's the same Olaf and it is. Jane and lyndal, thank you.
It is shocking though that Olaf left to South Africa, got shipwrecked there, survived, yet he never went back or notified his family that he was alive. Obviously money problems could be the reason but still. In South Africa it seems he also did not have contact with the children from his first marriage when his wife died. Strange man.
