Thank you Einar. I have read that often servants weren't mentioned but lunch will be late today while I look through this.

It is my understanding that the "bygdebøker" digitized by the National Library are only available to Norwegian IP addresses, so you can probably not read the Furnes bygdebok online from Australia. The volume of Furnes bygdebok in question was published in 1941, and not everyone who lived on the various farms is mentioned in it, unfortunately. The edition available from the National Library online is a reprint from 1996, so it has not been updated. This book is still for sale, as far as I understand. See link above.

Thank you Nancy. My Peder and Klare were on different farms for the birth of each of their children, so moved around a bit.

I think we probably all consider the bygdebook to be 'the' thing we need to consult with the idea of making research easier.
