The passenger list for New Brunswick 1868, see here shows Anders (#300) and Søren Andersens family and a Gulbrand Jonsen, all from Faaberg (Fåberg).

Ancestry.com has him arriving in August 1868 into Canada on the New Brunswick. Not much information given. . He is on page 62 of the original manifest just above Gulbrand Jonson Saaum. I have yet to figure out what name the transcriber has him listed under. Here is the transcribed version of Gulbrand Jonson Saaum.

Gulbrand Sagrun
in the Canadian Passenger Lists, 1865-1935
Name: Gulbrand Sagrun
Gender: Male
Date of Arrival: Aug 1868
Vessel: New Brunswick

The transcriber read the L as a S and so here is the record for Anders Andreas Lybek.

Anders Amrinston Sybek
in the Canadian Passenger Lists, 1865-1935
Name: Anders Amrinston Sybek
Gender: Male
Date of Arrival: Aug 1868
Vessel: New Brunswick
Search Ship Database: Search for the New Brunswick in the 'Passenger Ships and Images' database
Port of Arrival: Canada

Port of Arrival: Canada

Here is a link to the Canadian Records

Is there any record of him crossing the border from Canada to USA or vice versa. Ancestry has him crossing in December, 1924 and June 20, 1920 with his son Oscar. I don't have ancestry so I can't check the records.

This Border Crossing Card has data on it that indicates he was in the United States from 1871 to 1914 and where is listed as Minn. Also in the box labelled Date of Landing he has put 1871 and for nearest relative he lists son Oscar.

Andrew Andrewson Lubeck
in the U.S., Border Crossings from Canada to U.S., 1825-1960

Race/Nationality: Scandinavian
Age: 75
Birth Place: Norway
Port of Arrival: Eastport, Idaho, USA

I just wanted to thank each of you that has provided me with some information of Andrias Andreassen and his son Andres who we know as Andrew Lubeck. I attended a family reunion of Lubeck's this past weekend and everyone was very interested in the Lubeck Family History especially the information about his life in Norway. We had three days of fun, friends and family.

We are now 7th generations that we have some information for.

Andrias Anderssen -Anders Andreassen (Andrew Lubeck) -Oscar Lubeck- Fern Lubeck Christiansen- Allan Christiansen- Kyle Christiansen-Spencer Christiansen.

Thanks again.

Thanks again.

Hello
I am starting to investigate information regarding Birgit/Berget Knudsen/knutson again after a 3+ year absence!

According to some information I received from this thread Birgit was born June 26,1863. Her father was Knut Oleivson Gurigard. Her mother was Birgit Aslesdatter Arnegard.
Birgit is listed as Birgit Knutsdatter Gurigard Lybek. Please correct me if I have their names wrong. They are listed a bit differently than we do here in Canada.

She married Andrew Lubeck in Minnesota USA on November 19, 1891
She had 4 children Christine, Adolph, Oscar and Albert who died in infancy. The children were all born in USA. From research it appears that Christine was born in 1890 and was not Andrew's. Any information on this would be appreciated.

I am wondering when the family emigrated to the USA? When Andrew emigrated he landed in Quebec, Canada.

On another paper which appears to be a census in Norway 1886 because Birgit is listed a 3 years of age the place of birth is Aals Prgj. I am wonder what this is?
Thank you.

Bertina Christine's father is identified on her confirmation record as Even or Evar Olsen and her mother as Bergit Knudson. Her birth date is listed as 4 Sept 1890 and baptism date as 31 Oct 1890 and birthplace as Nicollet. Confirmation was celebrated on 27 Nov 1904 in the Swan Lake Lutheran church with an address of New Ulm.

This is the same church that the funeral for Mrs. Bergitta / Bergitte A Lybeck was held. The record lists her death as occurring 3 Sept 1906 at the state asylum in St. Peter. Her age is recorded as 43. Her funeral was held on 23 Sept 1906. on page [printed number] 333, not sure what the volume is.
