I have been searching the wrong man's family information for my grandfather was Christopher Maurice Mortensen and not a Mathias Christopher Mortensen-they were born on the same day in Bergen and I was too much in a hurry in accepting the N.E. Centers information as his.

We'd always heard that our Christopher Maurice Mortensen born June 15, 1872 in Bergen (father Maurice Mortensen, mother's name unknown), he could have been a baker and cook for the Merchant Marines? .Christopher Maurice Mortensen landed in New York before leaving the marines and moving to Duluth, MN where he'd marry in 1899 to a Randine GJardrum (The Norwegian Emmigration Center was unable to find anything for her.)

Randine Gjerdrum:
#4 Randine Embretsdatter, born 06 Dec 1863, Våler, Hedmark. parents: Embret Amundsen & Berte Maria Olsdatter, Furuset.
Residence 1865: Furuset, Våler, Hedmark
Emigration: Randine E. Førøseth, 02 Nov 1883,
Furuseth is a sub-farm under Gjerdrum østre in Våler, Hedmark.

The faulty(?) Christopher:
Mathias Christopher Mortensen
Born: 15 June 1872
Parents: Watchmaker apprentice Mathias Christopher Mortensen & Albertine Østhilde Knoph
Emigration: Mathias Kristofer Mortensen, 06 Jun 1892.

Census-1900 says your man imigrated in 1886. Census-1910 says he [Christopher Martinson] emigrated 1885.

Name: Randine Mortensen
Event Type: Death
Event Date: 30 May 1928
Event Place: Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada
Gender: Female
Age: 64
Marital Status: Married
Birth Date: 06 Dec 1863
Birth Year (Estimated): 1864
Birthplace: , Norway
Father's Name: Gjardrum
Spouse's Name: Christopher Mortensen
British Columbia Death Registrations, 1872-1986; 1992-1993

They moved from Duluth to Robbins Range, BC Canada in 1915 with their 4 children Marius, Bertha, Ragna and Valdemar.
Bertha was the name of Randines mother. Maybe Ragna was the name of Christopher Maurice's mother?

Lynn,
what is your "proof" that Christopher Maurice Mortensen is not Mathias Christopher Mortensen?
He seems like a good candidate, although imigration year doesn't fit with census 1900/1910.

ps:
I see on your Geni page that you have managed to enter the wrong d.o.b. for both Christopher Maurice and Randine...

Probably the same man found by Jan Peter leaving in 1892.

Christoffer Mortensen
in the UK, Outward Passenger Lists, 1890-1960
Name: Christoffer Mortensen
Gender: Male
Age: 20
Birth Date: abt 1872
Departure Date: 16 Jun 1892
Port of Departure: Liverpool, England
Destination Port: Quebec, Canada
Ship Name: Circassian
Shipping line: Allan Line
Master: Robert P Moore

Christoffer Mortensen
in the Canadian Passenger Lists, 1865-1947
Name: Christoffer Mortensen
Gender: Male
Age: 20
Birth Year: abt 1872
Vessel: Circassian
Date of Arrival: 27 Jun 1892
Port of Arrival: Quebec, Quebec, Canada
Port of Departure: Liverpool, England; Londonderry, Ireland

The destination on the original record is a little hard to read but my best guess wood be Duluth.

Very interesting with destination Duluth, Anton!

Looking forward to learn why Lynn thinks Mathias Christopher Mortensen is not her grandfather. He even has a sister named Ragna.
Their mother Albertine died in 1884, and their father had to receive support from the poor relief fund, until he died in 1906.

Target Matthias and Christopher Marice share a birth date and birth place, this from Lynn's other topic (has 3 going!):

Military record in Norway:
Probably Matthias Christopher the son as Markus Kristoffer{
https://www.digitalarkivet.no/en/view/44/pp00000000094890

Actual birth & baptism Matthias Christopher #68 b 15 June 1872:
SAB, Nykirken Sokneprestembete, H/Haa: Ministerialbok nr. B 3, 1870-1884, s. 41
Brukslenke for sidevisning: https://media.digitalarkivet.no/kb20061122040519

Death certificate in B.C.
Is this your grandfather Christopher Maurice Mortenson?
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FLPG-M82

Variations in dates of arrival often mean that a person was a sailor and could have had several dates of arrival, or maybe just forgot.

(An aside, the current iteration of the Bergen baptism database which used to be so useful, leaves a lot to be desired.)

That particular Bergen baptism database is still available.

That database shows 6 children born the same day as Mathias Christopher - 4 girls and a boy named Bernhard Andreas - no other Mortensens or Martensens.
