Yes, but again - thats not "my Andor"... this is an another man with the same name, lived in North Dakota... and born in 1878... :-)

Thanks for your reply though!

most of the time when there was a divorce like your ancestor the family would have nothing to do with him or her this was very common among the Norwegians

The World War I draft registration cards in US are a virtual male birth record of males born between about 1875 and 1900. They were required to register regardless where they were born as long as they were in US during 1917-1918. If your Andor is in this dataset, he would have to have assumed a new identity as there are no exact names like his (except for the already eliminated Andor on age), nor any closely associated names (like Anders / Andrew). I found only one born in Norway with 24 Mar 1887 birthdate, this fellow, but he was born in Lom, so unlikely to be just an assumed name but would have to be an entirely assumed identity: https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:K6ZK-R6Z

The police lists of emigrants leaving Norway go roughly to 1930 and there appears to be no one with Andor's name, or matching info in the base. Occasionally, people are able to leave Norway without being in this record but that seems to most often happen in earlier years and less frequently in later years.. That he isn't in it makes me suspicious. Maybe he moved to Sweden or England or Australia, rather than US or Canada, or maybe he stayed elsewhere in Norway? Did he become a sailor and his leaving because of his employment obscures the information?

Are divorces in Norway considered public records? If so, it might be worthwhile to see if you can obtain the records on his. Otherwise, in my experience generally, exes and their families usually have the best dirt on the former partner. Is anyone working on Elida's family connections? What happened to her?

Review the published death notices of all Andor's siblings to see if he is mentioned as surviving. See if there is a dødfallsprotokol or another estate record for his father and his mother in which he is mentioned as surviving.

I have tried over the last couple of days to get a particular newspaper issue to load at the National Library but it just won't load for me. Andor Silkoset is mentioned in the Hedemarkens Amtstidende published 13 July 1914 page2, also column 5 under a headline of "Vaaler Hered styre" this is the OCR read: "Andor Silkoset 1900 Kr..." Don't know the context of it or significance, but appears that he's still around the area in 1914.

In a sort of a corollary to the "Unspeakable Law", I was able to finally load this and this is what Google translates it as:
"Guaranteed gift for the following Loan: Emil Østli (Supplementary) 300 Kr., Andor Silkoset 1900 Kr. And Arnt Bølla 1500 Kroner."
