I haven't posted in a long time, but I still come on here almost every night because there is almost always something new and interesting. I was following this topic because I have gr-gr grandparents who lived, married, had children, and then departed from Gjerpen c. 1867 for the USA. How fun to think that their paths or their parents' paths may have crossed with those of the family being discussed here.
But this link, oh, this link! What a marvelous view of the church where they were married, where their first several babies were baptized, and some of them likely buried in the graveyard, as they lost several children before their move to this country. I have previously seen still photos of the church, some links for which were kindly shared here. But to see this church with the leaves blowing in the wind, the steps leading to the church door so close.... I cannot thank you enough for posting this link! |
