Some people I am researching left Christiania or Stavanger on 10 May 1867 on the Argo for Hull. I assume they arrived at Hull and took the train to Liverpool. According to the passenger list for this sailing on the Argo, they were going to New York. Does anyone know what ship they traveled on from England?
Thanks for any input regarding this journey!

A rough list of arrivals in May and June into New York from England. Date followed by name of ship. Taken from Ancestry.com.

20 May 1867, City of Dublin

20 May 1867, City of Boston

31 May 1867, Virginia

3 June 1867, City of London

10 June 1867, Bright

11 June 1867, City of Antwerp

17 June 1867, City of Antwerp

24 Jun 1867 City of Boston

Perhaps a list of a few of the known passengers would help narrow down the search.

Thanks for the list of sailings. I did not see an arrival date at Hull for the Argo, but perhaps I don´t know how to look for it?

Here are the people I am looking for, if that helps!

http://www.norwayheritage.com/p_list.asp?jo=126
Number 3515: Pernille Bratten
Number 3518: Fredrik Molstad. Pernille and Fredrik were from Veldre in Ringsaker. They were married at the time of this sailing
Number 2648: Helland, party of four. Kittel Kittelsen Helland, Ovidia Bernhardine, Brønla/Brynhilde Kittelsdotter Helland, Anna Andersdotter Helland. Kittel, Brønla and Anna were from Sand (now Suldal in Rogaland). Ovidia was from Bærum.

This list seems to compile a number of sailings for the Argo. But all of the above are listed as departing on 10 May, and their destination is New York. Would that usually mean that they traveled on the same route after docking in Hull? The two parties were headed for Wisconsin, the Molstads to Trempeleau County and the Hellands to Wiota. Are there passenger lists for the ships listed above?

A tough group to find. I tried my alternate method of searching for nearby names and found Laura Sogstad number 2652 in your list. She is listed as German but I would not trust that.

Ethnicity/ Nationality: German
Place of Origin: Germany
Port of Departure: Liverpool, England and Queenstown, Ireland
Destination: United States of America
Port of Arrival: New York, New York
Ship Name: City of Baltimore

I can see them on the original list as

Rev Mr Holland
Mrs "
Miss B "
A "

Hard to figure out what names they are transcribed under.

I think that both Pernille Bratthen and Fredrik Molstad are likely on the same ship. Both Herman Engh 3519 and Nils Andersen 3516 are on the City of Baltimore on page 14 of the original record. It is just a matter of finding them.

Here is the record for Nils

Nils Anderson

This is the exact problem I am having.
Left Christiana June 14, 1867. I think it was 2 days to Hull. Maybe Liverpool by June 15. New York by 20-21? City of Boston or Antwerp. Could not find Ole Jensen.
I’ll keep trying

Check your math and it adds up to 17 days from Norway to NY.
Now we’re looking at July 1
