All: I have tried to find passenger list online but no luck.
Can anyone help me find a passenger list in April 1847 from Bergan, Below is a paragraph about immigrants from Bjelde and Stondal gard in Aurland, Vangen parish in Sogn de Fjordane and also a link about immigrants. The article says immigration in 1846 but also noted a listing of immigration for April 1847.
Rognald Knutsen Stondal 1817-1884, the father of Martin Stondahl, was born on the Stondal gard, Vangen parish, Aurland, Sogn province, Norway, a son of Knut Knutsen born Naesbo Stundal (1779-1825) and Kari Rognaldsdatter Bjelde Stundal (b.1784). Kari Rognaldsdatter emigrated in 1846 with the unmarried son, Rognald, and the daughter, Anna Knutsdtr. Stondal Belle, her husband, Knut Knutsen Belle and children. The families first settled at Koshkonong, Dane Co., Wis. In 1854 they came to the Root River Settlement, Minnesota Territory, which would later be the townships of Holt, Carrolton and Arendahl, rural Lanesboro, Fillmore County. The Stondal homestead of 160 acres would border Carrolton twp. on the north in Arendahl township. The family name would change slightly to "Stondahl." A variation of the name, "Stundahl," may also be found in the U.S.A.

I wonder if there are any traces of the mother Kari Rognaldsdatter in America? The reason I ask is because a probate record after the deceased Kari Rognaldsdatter Stundal from 1844 seems to contradict her emigration entry in 1847. Children mentioned are the daughters Sigrid, Anna, Marthe and Johanne, and son Rognald. |
