#25, Sigrid. Having trouble reading the names in column 9.

Her father, Tosten Tostensen Hansebraaten. b 1854, apparently in Hansebraaten, Ål, Buskerud, Norway, but I can't find anything in the parish registers before and after that year. Also checked the Norwegian census. He married Birgit Haagensdatter, b. 5 March 1857 in Ål, Buskerud, but haven't been able to find that either.

Any help appreciated.

The faddernes names: Andres or Anders Evensen Iversen Hefte, Aslak Haagensen Haugen, Aagot Haagensdatter Slaata, Margit Haagensdatter Haugen, Birgit Knutsdatter Holgelien

(Thanks for help below.)

Aslak, Aagot and Margit were siblings of the mother of Sigrid, Birgit. Their farm was Olaguthaugen. Aslak married a Birgit Knutsdatter Holgelien in 1888.

The story about Torstein's and Birgit's family is spread across 3 volumes in Aalbygdesoga Slektsoga. From volume VII it says Sigrid moved to US and in 1904 was in Hatton, N.D.

Other children are: Gunvor (in US as Gina) b 20 July 1876
Håkon b 11 Sept 1878
Ola b 22 June 1881
Birgit b 2 Feb 1884
Aslak b 10 May 1889
Aagot b 5 March 1891
Birgit b 30 Aug 1893 moved to Ø Aker
Gunvor b 7 April 1896
Astrid b 27 Mar 1899.

Torstein was born 13 Jan 1854 died 1952
Birgit b. 5 Mar 1857 died 1943

Also lived on Gjøta and then moved to Ø. Aker in 1923.

First fadder name reads Anders Iversen Hefte.
Farmname for Aagot Haagensdr might read Skoleslaatten? First syllable is hard to read, but the name ends with slaatten.

Tosten in 1865 Census, father is listed as Tosten Larsen in the marriage record

Likely Tosten not yet married in the 1875 Census.

From prior experience, a number of Hansebraaten residents came to US and Canada and some shortened their name to Braaten.

My guess is that this is Birgit in the 1875 Census living with her parents but the birth year is wrong. Parents are right as is the brother Haagen Haagensen. Farm is also Hougen
