This skifte has a paragraph before it that is not typical. Anyone have an idea what it means? Also, their is a reference to Christiansand on about the fourth line that is followed by the December 1775 date. I am assuming he died in Christiansand, but there is more said than that. There is an underlined farm name that I can't read. I expected he was at Stromen farm in Oyestad at that time since son Soren was born there in 1775.

The farmname is hard to read. Looks like Hrønevaaje or Hødnevaag?
But there's no farm like that in Øyestad...

Re: Christiansand; it says "...fra Christiansand til Frankrige med Varher afgik i December 1775"...
"... from Kristiansand to France with goods departed in December 1775..."

So likely a reference to a ship which went to France with typical goods like lumber (planks or timber), fish or cod liver oil.
It looks like Bøye Sørensøn died on that trip. Was he a crew member or a captain on a ship?

Can the farmname be "Strømsboe"?

Thanks all. This makes for a more interesting story. I believed he and his father were bodkers making barrels for iron ore shipping. In some records bodker was used after the patronymic like a farm name, but perhaps that was true only for his father Soren. There is no indication he was a Captain-- I would assume he was a crew member. There is some association with Stromsboe farm with other family members. I believe Stromsboe eje is a farm under Strommen? It could be if he died at sea the family with young children moved from Strommen to somewhere else. His wife's father, Jacob Johannsen, is mentioned further down at Hiiseroen farm; not sure why.
Perhaps the indented preceding paragraph is just some administrative information about the delay the skifte since it is entered in late 1776, but no dates seem to be included.
