Yes, the dødsfallsprotokolls are often very helpful to find the whereabouts of surviving relatives, but that long ago they weren't always very abundant in information when dealing with poor people. And Anders Kristensen didn't own very much, working as a servant when he died. Their house burned down about the time his wife died. They lost everything, and the children were mostly spread all over the area...

But I have sent out an inquiry to the Digital Archives to check whether dødsfallsprotokolls exist from Hamarøy from 1899 when Anders died. The protokolls online only start in 1901, which doesn't help us much...
