Dear Listers!

Today I wish to introduce you to another big challenge, which noone on the Digital Archives has managed to solve:

The 1880 census for Chicago, IL shows this family: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33S7-9YB2-9897

HURLEY, U(A?) A. 24 IA Ire Ire - street car driver
HURLEY, Annie 23 Nor Nor Nor - wife - housekeeper
OLSON, Bell 13 WI Nor Nor - ??

But the 1880 census for Chicago, IL also shows this gentleman: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33SQ-GYB2-9WCM

HURLEY, Albert A. 24 IA WI IL - car driver (single)

I believe these two men are one and the same, however, I am unable to find a marriage record for them!?

Andrea Olsdotter Aarøen aka Annie OLSON was born in Sogndal, Norway Nov. 21, 1855, but emigrated in 1866 with her parents to Dane Co., WI. She lived for many years in Chicago, IL, but appears to have been alone, so either she divorced the streetcar driver, or he died young?

The 1885 Chicago city directory shows: Mrs. Ann HURLEY, house 3363 Auburn: https://www.ancestry.com/interactive/2469/4718501?pid=369308826&treeid=&personid=&usePUB=true&_phsrc=Nzx20469&_phstart=successSource

Andrea «Annie» Hurley operated a boarding house in Chicago, IL, but later became a housekeeper for her brotehr-in-law Henry Montgomery before mpving back to McFarland, Dane Co., WI where she died Sep. 28, 1936. She left no children.

The big challenges here are:

* To figure out who this Albert HURLEY may have been, and what happened to him?

* And when and where did he marry Annie Olson?

Thank you very much in advance for your great assistance in this matter!

Very sincerely yours,

Lars E. Oyane

The brother-in-law Henry Montgomery died in 1929 and his wife Carrie has predeceased him but two sisters-in-law are mentioned as surviving Mrs. Annie Hurley and Mrs. Bertha Lindstrom but neither of their locations are mentioned in Henry's obit.
