Hello everyone,

First and foremost. I would like to announce, that with the help of Jackie Marler, ToreL, and Anton Hagelee, I was able to receive a picture and death certificate of the very Peter Evensen Simon, whom we were researching three years ago. Furthermore, every piece of research that was found, ended up being true and stated so on Peter's death certificate. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

Now that we have Peter E Simon born on September 23, 1849, as Petter Evensen on Hagastuen, one part of the Farm Marigaardseie in the town Norderhov, in Ringerike, in Buskerud County, Norway to Martha Helgesdatter and Even Olsen, I would like to continue researching into his and my family tree.

So far Jackie found many siblings of Peter, which include Aaase Mathea Evensdatter, Hans Evensen, Randine Evensen, Ole Evensen, Engebret Evensen, Maria Eriksdatter, and Christian Evensen.

Birthplaces, according to Jackie include:

1. Aase Mathea on Alme, Norderhov, Ringerike, Buskerud, Norway
2. Hans on Ekli, Norderhov, Ringerike, Buskerud, Norway
3. Randine on Tanberg, Norderhov, Ringerike, Buskerud, Norway
4.Ole on Tanberg, Norderhov, Ringerike, Buskerud, Norway
5. Peter on Marigaard, Norderhov, Ringerike, Buskerud, Norway
6. Engebret on Marigaard, Norderhov, Ringerike, Buskerud, Norway
7. Christian on Marigaardseie

However, while I am interested in the siblings, I would like to find out more about Peter's father Even Olsen, and mother Martha Helgesdatter.

Jackie found Even Olsen death:
SAKO, Norderhov kirkebøker, F/Fa/L0012: Parish register (official) no. 12, 1856-1865, p. 410
https://www.digitalarkivet.no/kb20051111050846

Is it 14 Nov 1860? Or am I misreading it? Can we find out more, such as the birth record of Even Olsen, Birth or Death Record of Martha? I believe estimated I was given an 1813 Birth year for Martha.

Please let me know what you can do for me!

Just a quibble: the name of the main farm was Marigaard (Marigård in modern spelling). Hagastuen (Hagastua on modern maps) was a smaller farm belonging to Marigård that was leased out to the farmer who operated it. Such farms leased out from a farm X were often refered to generically as Xeie (Literally owned by X; eie is own in Norwegian). Hence Petter Hagastuen might also be referred to as Petter Marigaardseie, but anyone living at Marigård proper would not include the "eie" in the name/address.

14 Nov 1860 looks right. 45 years old; that suggests a baptism around 1815. Here is one; son Even born to Ole Evensen and Aasa Torkelsdatter at Tranbye-eie on April 13 1815:

https://www.digitalarkivet.no/view/255/pd00000039161543

A plausible candidate, as your Even's oldest daughter was named Aase.

And this looks like the same person's confirmation record in 1830, even if the age is a little off, as is his mother's name:
https://www.digitalarkivet.no/kb20070314630037 (No. 2)

The mother's patronymic In the original baptism record is barely readable, and could as well be Tostensdatter, as is written in the confirmation record. This is also what we find in the Geni profile: https://www.geni.com/people/Even-Olsen-Tranbyeiet/6000000000944963890?through=6000000000944963862

I think the confirmation record and the Geni.com profile has the correct last name. Here is the marriage record that fits.

Ole Evensen
in the Norway, Select Marriages, 1660-1926

Nr. 7

https://www.digitalarkivet.no/kb20070312640061

Here in the baptism of a different child it is spelled slightly dffeetnly.

Torsten Olsen
in the Norway, Select Baptisms, 1634-1927
Name: Torsten Olsen
Gender: Male
Baptism Date: 9 okt 1808 (9 Oct 1808)

Ole Evensen
Mother:
Aase Torchilsdr

Helge Hermandsen and Ragnil Svendsdatter seem like the correct parents for "our" Marthe Helgesdatter, given their residence at Alme in 1801 and the fact that "our" Marthe Helgesdatter's first child was born at Alme-eie.

Has anyone found Marthe Helgesdatter and Even Olsen's wedding record? With a little luck it might provide their fathers's full names and hence strengthen/weaken today's candidates.

No wedding found in Ancestry.com for them. That is a little odd as they should have been married around 1837 or earlier. Aase was baptized 26 Mar 1837.

Nr. 30
