Sorry for the late reply. I've been working hard trying to update everything. My tree has definitely expanded and I feel confident its far more accurate than it was previously, especially being able to follow the paper trail so well. Anton and Jackie, thank you for all your help and continued dialogue.

I think you're right. We've mentioned it several times, but the ancestry trees aren't very accurate (I can't say much, mine wasn't either.) That said, there's another Bertha Larson born to a Martin and Ann Larson from South Dakota area. He signed his name Ben in the 1900 census so I think people are putting the two together.

I'm guessing she moved up to live with her son Albert Harig, who is also the one that signed the Certificate of Death. Likely he had bad information.

Great find! Took me multiple times of reading through the forums while updating my tree to realize there are several of the children missing from the manifest.

Laurence, Bertha, Ludvig, Ole, and Ane didn't make it on the same ship it looks like.

There is a newspaper clipping that says Mary Larson from Palisade, Nebr. The marriage license also says she's from Hitchcock County. I'd say its very likely. The death certificate is blurry and hard to read, but I'm sure it would say the same thing.

How sad for the kids. I wonder if Laurence would have known that she died since she was in Minnesota.

At least two of the children from the 1920 Census ended up in Colorado. Above I have listed Grace Larson who ended up as an adopted daughter in Baca, County Colorado and eventually in Weld County, Colorado.

A son named Glen Ole Larson, called Jim for some reason unknown to me at times also ended up in Colorado. He was married in Mesa County, Colorado in 1933.

Jim Larson
in the Colorado, County Marriage Records and State Index, 1862-2006Name: Jim Larson
Gender: Male
Age: 21
Birth Date: abt 1912
Marriage Date: 2 Sep 1933
Marriage Place: Grand Junction, Mesa, Colorado, USA
Spouse:
Viola Biggs
Film Number: 001690099

Now Baca, Weld and Mesa are not very close to Phillips County, Colorado where Laurence died. So it is a good question how much contact the family had.

The third child Walter E Larson born 24 FEB 1914 • Culbertson, Hitchcock County, Nebraska, can also be found in Colorado.

He married Reba Gross in Grand Junction, Delta County, Colorado in 1934.

Name: Walter Larson
Gender: Male

Since Delta and Mesa are next to one another it is possible that Walter and Ole Glen Jim knew on another.

The question of where were Glen Jim and Walter in the 1930 Census is difficult to answer. But here is a guess. A Walter born ant 1814 is a single lodger with the Juranec family living in Sedewick County in 1910.

He does not seem to find with the Juranac family even tho he carries that last name. Also Sedgwick County is next to Phillips County Colorado where Lawrence Larson lived;. Just a guess at this point.

Looking further into when the children who did not accompany Martin and Anne in 1884, left.

Here is your Lauritz leaving in 1881. He is listed as the son of Martin Larsen Hegre and is nr. 8 right hand page. His destination is Kansas.

https://www.digitalarkivet.no/kb20070103310245

A little young since he was only 12 years old.

Although there's about a month between their dates look at 10. His name is Enevald Gabrielsen Malmin, is he an uncle or some other relative?

I see the family tree at familysearch.org has only one child of Walter Larson listed. In an obit published in the Record Searchlight in Redding California, on Walter Larson there is a daughter named Eula Selseth and a son Earl Larson who along with their mother Reba, survived. He was an Assembly of God minister.
