Hello!
You can do a search in the Norwegian database Digitalarkivet (http://digitalarkivet.uib.no), where you will probably find more information about your family. Do you have any further information about your relatives? Viken and Storbakken are farm names. I ran a search on the farm names Viken and Storbakken (or Storbaken), and found three farms by the name of Viken in Trysil in 1900. There are 21 farms by the name of Storbakken in Hedmark (the county where Trysil is) in 1900. I suggest you visit Digitalarkivet, and also that you provide us with a little more information on names of the ones who emigrated and when they left.
Good luck!
Jon-Inge

These people might be related to you?
Their destination was Minnesota, but they could have moved to Canada later...?

(among 12 others)
e) Gulbrand Viken, male, single lodger, not married, furniture maker, born 1878.

I have put letters (a-f) in front of the names, so that "a" among the emigrants is prob. the same "a" as in the 1900-census.

I wish you best the luck in your further search! :-)
//Jan Peter

Hi

It is often a good idea to contact the local library. They will often know the people in the local historic societies, and might be able to help. Go to this the Trysil Library web page and you will find their e-mail address.
