You probably can find Hans and his family here in the 1910 Norwegian Census

Here is Hans and part of the same family in the 1900 Norwegian Census. It might take a little work to sort out how all these people are related.

This looks like the birth record for Hans Mathias. See #53. His father is Hilmar Kornelius Gotlibsen and his mother is Jenny Andrea Pauline Joahnesdatter. This record indicates that the father was born in 1873 and died in 1898 and the mother was born in 1878 and also died in 1898.

I think your right about the fathers name Jackie.

Looks like the mother of the four girls in the 1900 Norwegian census is Anna Cecilie Johannesen listed here in the birth for Johanna Hansine Johannsen # 22 as Anna Cecilie J Andersen and the father is listed as Johan Hans Jakob Johansen.

Father's name might not be Matthais but his occupation might be 'matros".

From the History of the People of Norman County, Minnesota by Norman County Heritage Commission, published 1976 by Taylor Publishing Co, page 341:

Abstracted from the story titled "J.T. Redland" it says that J.T. Redland was born in Stavanger on 28 Nov 1844, came to US at 10 years of age with his parents, landing in Quebec, travelling to Chicago to settle in Coon Prairie, Wisconsin where he lived until June 1871 when he and his mother moved to Norman County.

page 120 same book abstracted from the story title "Hans Gilbertson" says that Hans was born on 14 Sept 1897 in Vardo, his parents eac died of typhoid fever and Hans was raised by his maternal grandmother. Hans came to US at 16 years of age coming to his uncle Edward Tronnes. Hans' grandmother came later. Hans himself made a return visit to his birthplace in 1971 with several of his granddaughters.

Tronnes' of Norman county were mentioned in a previous topics...

Karen Sophie married Jonas Redland.
J.T. Redland born 1844 in Stavanger town, Rogaland county.
I believe the origin of Redland was Rødland (rød is red in Norwegian).

Threre were 5. Rødland farms in Helland municipality , Rogaland county, in 1865.
