OK - thanks...

I see Olaf's birth entry here:

http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?show=15&uid=16194&urnread_imagesize=gigant&hode=nei&ls=1

I can't decipher some of the words though:

word before Agnethe
words after 1854
word looks like "?lton"

Would you mind deciphering for me?

Thank you again!

Now I am a bit confused, is there two Agnete Olsdatter with parents Ole Olsen and Inger/Lisbeth Hansdatter? Or did Agnete emigtate in -67 and returned some years later and gave birth to Olaf?

This is guarantee Agnethe Halsrud Olsdatter, born 1854, but still no Halsrud farm is mentioned in the local bygdebok

Before Agnethe it´s written Pige- Unmarried girl
words after 1854 are: /og ungkarl Erik Olsen Elton F 1853/-7and Bachelor Erik Olsen Elton b. 1853/

Ronnaug (present Rĝnnaug) was born January 24. 1860, she was a twin, Marthea above was her twinsister
"Tvillingbarn af" Ole Olsen og Inger Martea Hansd. Halsrud- Twinchildren by Ole.......

I'm a bit confused about the Klevmoen connection also.

Where did you connect "Inger Martea" with the name "Lisbeth?"

Her name was Rĝnnaug, an Ò, a Svedish Ĝ.
Norway was forced into a union with Sweden by those days Superpowers in Europe from 1814-1905.

It looks like KomperudE, a cotters place owned by farm Komperud. E= eie- owned by

Lisbeth in the emigration- and confirmation records 1867, but if this is another Agnethe Olsdatter I understand

Pehaps or most likely Klevmoen was a blind track, but then this "right" Agnethe was born march 29. 1854, but in the confirmatinrecord her mother is named Inger Mathea Olsdatter (wrongspellings is not abnormal) , person nr 31 Agnethe Olsdatter KomperudE

I believe this one is the correct one. Komperud is right next door to the Halsrud farm and both parent's names match.

What database did you select to find that page you gave the link for?

I clicked on the link, but I don't see 1854 digitized pages.

Joe.

I mean to say...

I clicked on the link and saw that page.

I would like to know what database it was that you specified because I don't see a particular one containing 1854 data by name.

Joe, it was the confirmation record that Kċre was showing you, not the birth record. so it's 11 Oct 1868! Agnethe Olsdatter is #31 birthdate 29 Mar 1854, with parents Ole and Inger Matea.

ah yes I see -- I didn't trust myself for the "confirma.." vs. "alder" :-)

by the way, what does the column header word "fobefteb" at the top translate to?

I think it's "fĝdested" which is place of birth. Here are some links for column headings for the different years:

http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~norway/na22.html (years 1820-1876)

http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~norway/na21.html (years 1812-1819)

http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~norway/na23.html (years 1877- )

These column headings really come in handy for me!!

Thanks Tami for your assistance, I had to get some sleep, Norway is 6 hours earlier than N.Y. time.

Joe
I am glad Hopkins and you lead us out of the blind track and even gave us some Halsrud names. There are still Halsrud´s living on Dokkka.

When the church-records earlier than 1860 are online we can give a more exactly answere to their origin
These church-records goes bak to 1707, only death records from 1735-1845 made by Paul Arve Buskum are online
http://home.online.no/~buskum/dedregister.htm

Today about 1.8 of total 4 mill pages are online.
