Here is a great site for the column headings meanings for the period 1877-
By the way, your link didn't come thru. |

column 4: Place of Birth: Mælum column 5: Residence: Kasterud column 8: Remarks (The religious knowledge, etc. of the person being confirmed)
ved = at, by, near
I'm not sure what the remarks refer to, it does not look to be her grades... Possibly she gave birth to someone in 1900??

Thank you Tami and Jan.
She did give birth to a daughter on November 19, 1900 to an Anna Ingeborg Wold. Kåre helped me out with the Census on a different site.
I am trying to find out what happened to this family and who my relatives are. Kåre tells me there are 1450 Wolds in the Oslo phone book. Hope I'm not related to them all. :-)
Thanks again for the information.

Ok, so "Le 1900, fol.305, , ....21!" would possibly refer to the christening record of Anna Ingeborg.
Maybe "Birth records 1900, page 305, line # 21" ?

Arden -- Help in making links to the scanned images on Digitalarkivet:
Working direct links to the scanned images on the Digitalarkivet can be copied and pasted from the page from a display option available. At the top of the scanned image page is an option "Bildeinformasjon:" [Norwegian version]/"Image Information"[English version] which is by default set to "Ingen" [Norwegian version]/"None" [English version]. Change that and magic is available. Of the three options I like "Øverst" [Norwegian version]/"On top" [English version] because it puts the additional information across the top of the page and is usually easier for me to see. Copy either the permanent page link on the line "Permanent sidelenke:" [Norwegian version]/"Permanent pagelink" [English version] or the permanent image link "Permanent bildelenke:" [Norwegian version]/"Permanent imagelink" [English version] given. The page link will bring the user to the exact same webpage location, with all the choices for viewing at ratios from 20 to 150%. The permanent image will display only a jpg image file with slightly more limited zoom capabilities. The first line "Kildeinformasjon:" [Norwegian version]/"Source information" [English version] is a really nice summary of the source of the information and is nice to have for making detailed source citations, footnotes, etc.

The information in column 8 is "Se 1900, fol. 305, nr. 21!" - a reference to something that happened to Randine - I have not been abel to find which parish records it is refered to. A similar info is just above and that one I found. |

Thanks for the help. I am going to start looking at each parish record for the County, Oslo for the time period around 1900. Is there a map that shows the boundry of each parish?
The 1900 census that Kåre provided shows that they lived in "Municipality: Kirstiania" and "Municipality number: 0301" on Street "Vibes Gade 14"
I have pictures (with no names) of Randine's children and from their ages it looks like the kids are a year or two apart in age.
I plan to search page by page in the birth records after 1900, but I would like to improve my chances by being in the correct parish.
Again, I really appriciate all of the help I have been given.

I am not aware of the census you refer to, but try Fagerborg and Gamle Aker first. |

It's 10:06 PM Wednesday night here in California and I see that in Norway it is 7:06 AM Thursday morning so I will ask my questions and hope to get answers while I sleep.
I have been searching for the family of my Grandfather's sister, Randine Amundsdatter Wold. In the 1900 Census it lists his occupation as "Bagersvend". What does that mean?
Also, it lists the Religion for H. Wold as "Udtraat". What does that mean?
Their daughter, Anna Ingeborg Wold, was born in "Kristiania"
Thanks for any help.

"Udtraat" means gone out, he renounced his membership in the Norwegian Church, his church records might be find among "Utmeldte av Statskirken" or "Dissentere".

Under the Links section (above upper right on this page) you'll find links to other websites of great help -- including word translation lists from Norwegian to English of many words found in censuses, parish records, etc. http://home.online.no/%7Eotjoerge/files/word.htm
