Yes - Good idea to look again at Christian Larsen's baptism.

Both Andreas Christensen and Christian Hansen (father of the candidate Petra) came from Rakkestad, a little east of Fredrikstad. Both are in Østfold fylke.

The posted family tree claims Andreas died in 1890.

Why does Marie Andersen Snekkenes take in a foster child when she is already a widow, with children of her own? Her decision is a little confusing, as she will be raising him with no father. Or maybe the arrangement was meant to be temporary... We don't know until we know, but one gets the impression there ought to be a compelling reason that Marie would take Christian in.

Not sure if any obituary for Christian Larson has been posted or not but the Waukegan Public Library will look up. This is from their website:

"Looking for an obituary or other past news article?

If you’re looking for an obituary that was published in a Waukegan newspaper, you can email a librarian to look up the obituary you’re seeking and send you a copy. This service is free! All we need you to provide is the person’s name, his or her date of death, and your contact information. You also may come into the library yourself to browse through past newspapers on microfilm and to print or email articles. Here’s what’s available:
•Lake County News-Sun, 1845-1900 (This range has some gaps.)
•Lake County News-Sun, 1900-present
•Chicago Tribune, 1972-2000"

The mother of candidate Petra Marie Hansen was Mathea Halvorsdatter, born 1840 in Hof. Here is Mathea in 1865 census. Mathea has a two-year-old sister named Petra. link
