Good luck with your new Topic.

I´ll bring up some more records from Tinnsoga in addition to the LDS records.

Margit Østensdatter Svalestuen born 1759 was born to Østen Herbjørnsen Svalestuen born about 1739 and Karen Kittilslsdatter born on Nordre (Northern) Luraas and christened Oct. 2. 1732 in Atrå, right hand 11. and 12. line from top (hard to read):
Kittil Luuraas barn kaldet (child named) Karij

Karis parents were Kittil Sigurdsen born about 1698- dead 1750 and Kari Olsdatter Luraas born about 1700 -dead 1750. These dates are likely coming from the probateregisters, not online yet, will be within 2014, since the records from 1730-57 seems to have vanished.

Østen Herbjørnsen baught Svalestuen from his brother Ole in 1753, he died in 1779, age 51, and was buried in Atrå July 21:
21de July Attraa 23 Østen Svalestuen 51: aar. left hand down #23

Kittil Sigudsen was born to Sigurd Halvorsen Luuraas and Sønstebø and unknown mother.

Kari Olsdatter Luuraas was born to Ole Knudsen and Aslaug Olsdatter. Ole Knudsen baught Luuraas in 1717

Østen Herbjørnsen Svalestuen was born to Herbjørn Hansen Jønsrud and Svalestuen born about 1688 and Margit Sigurdsdatter about 1690-1734 (probate register from 1734). Herbjørn Hansen died 1760 and was buried in Attraa, right hand page 403 :
Dom 3d p. Trinit Attraae 37 Herbjørn Hansen Svalestuen gl. 72 aar: Sunday June 22. Atrå, 37, Herbjørn Hansen Svalestuen age 72, #37

Svalestuen, the origin, must have been a special house named after a "Svalgang", an "outher hall" surrounding the house or mainly the front by the entrance. This photo from Borgund Stavkirke show a Svalgang

There is another person asking members of the Norway-List on RootsWeb for help with the SAME family! Perhaps if you join forces with the poster there named Dave Churness you can save yourselves some duplicative effort.
