One and the same Martha Woldseth, Kåre. I'm just a tad confused about this current exchange and where exactly she's fitting in. She's my great-grandmother. So, you're confirming for me that she is Jacob Krossøy's daughter?

If I interpret Vivians information correct it seems like she is Dave.
Clik on her name and ask her private, perhaps she has more information.

Then Marthas lastname was Johannesen, this must be be her in 1900 working as a servant in Bergen

She emigrated 1901 as Martha Johannesdatter Korsøen (Krossøy)

Martha and Emil Woldseth in Manhattan with three children and Marthas half sister Mathilde.
Is Mathilde the same as Matilla in the 1900 census in page 1, 2. column?

Help. I can't seem to get this Web site to work for me: http://www.bilete.austrheim.no/. I was going to get the pictures of Emil and Martha and their kids (including my grandfather) off to print out at Kinko's, and it won't let me on. I am leaving Thursday for Florida, and I was going to give the pictures to my mother and my cousin, Denise.

This is the same photo I posted July 19 as Martha

If you enter dwoldsteh´s site from August 18. write Woldseth or Krossøy in the window SØK and go, watch the family in Brooklyn or 10 photos were people with last name Krossøy are mentioned.

The contents is in Norwegian, it can be translated if you want.

Good luck Vivian.

Have you seen this site Vivian?

Use last name contains Krossøy/Krosøy and watch the memory- and tombstones for about 20 Krossøy´s.
Sverre, Maria and Birgitte fall in WW 2.

I went to the Naeseth Library yesterday, and I have an update. In looking at the parish register for Krossoy, LIndas, Hordaland, I discovered that Martha Hansen was NOT the daughter of Olina Monsdatter. She was in fact the daughter of a first wife, Kari Jakobsdatter. That would make Martha and Jacob half-siblings. Maybe you all knew-- I certainly didn't.
